With the update of the Mists of Pandaria talent calculator, Blood Strike returned. It just remains a normal strike by the current looks though. More suggestions are cool.

A thought from a friend of mine:
Blood Strike now gives a stacking buff. When reached 5 stacks it heals you for 10% of your total HP.
This makes Blood Strike a useful strike for all specs. You can time the heal but it shouldn't be that OP. Can also make the effect dispellable to prevent imba.

Another recently added suggestion is to make it the Death Knight version of Shockwave, however this ability can only be used with swords. You kind of "Impale" all the targets infront of you for X damage. Result, DK will favor sword in some cases. However it won't destroy our AoE tanking since we still have blood boil, DnD and Heart Strike.

A few weeks ago, I created myself a warrior and for now I really enjoy that class because of it's rotation and the way you use you ability's (Shield Slam -> Revenge, Devestate, Filler, Shield Slam). With filler being a choice between 4 ability's. It sounds far more interesting than just Diseases, DS, DS, HS, HS, what I currently feel.
The first idea wouldn't really make your rotation more interesting at all. All you'd be doing is replacing one ability in the group with another depending on the situation. You'd still essentially be pressing 4 buttons etc etc etc. There's really no reason to change it at all as it's just a starting skill, as a few others have said.
