Republic Fleet / Carrick Station is orbiting ... ?

What is the planet that Carrick Station / The Republic Fleet is orbiting? Anyone know?

My guess would be Coruscant, since that's the Republic capital. I haven't played nearly enough Republic to know for sure but I'm basing that off of how the Imperial fleet is stationed close to Dromund Kaas.

Wookieepedia doesn't say anything else except that it is orbiting "a planet". However, look at these screenshots, taken from the Jedi Knight hangar on Carrick Station:

As you can see, it most certainly isn't Coruscant. Coruscant is an ecumenopolis, and this planet clearly has oceans and continents. Also, while this planet seems to have at least three moons, all the other satellites are missing, such as the mirror stations and so on.

Alderaan only has one moon, though.

When you take the interfleet transport, you can clearly see it. It looks very much like Alderaan... or Earth for that matter.

Edit: Actually never mind, it still looks like the photos above. I think from one of the bays, or one of the fleet ships it looks a little bit more blue/white... but I dunno anymore.

Galaxies have so many planets that most of them are, frankly, irrelevant. To get some perspective on this, you can read about what we actually know about this, in real life, here:

So knowing that there are billions of planets in our galaxy, it is entirely possible that the space stations in SWTOR orbit a planet that nobody cares about.

Star Wars doesn't take place in our galaxy. After all, it all begins with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away".

Also, I'm pretty sure the big wigs at the republic who decided to park the fleet and space station in this particular orbit know exactly what the planet is called, whether it's inhabited, what the flora and fauna are like if there's any, what the climate is like, and so on and so forth. It's just something the developers haven't decided on, and have overlooked.

There are quite a few known and named planets in the Star Wars universe. Wikipedia lists a few of them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_planets

I'm sure if you wanted, you could find a list of all of those 460 known Star Wars planets, and Carrick Station might just be orbiting one of them. Wookieepedia might be a good place to start: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Planets

Oh, and try telling an astronomer that a planet is "irrelevant".
