Nevertheless, one shouldn't have to RAMdrive the swtor asset files in order to play the game at non-slideshow frame rates. The engine is too asset I/O bound, and the data is being inefficiently streamed to the GPU; hence why people, and myself, have graphs showing that the moment the number of characters on the screen goes beyond a certain number, the GPU usage drops to 7-30%, while the hard drive I/O read rate is at max, constantly pulling up dozens of 300MB+ asset files multiple times. The GPU is being utterly starved as the game slowly pulls data from the hard drive, processes it, then pushes it to the video card.
A MMO that cannot handle the "Massively Multiplayer" component; ironic. I apologize for the antagonistic tone; I just really really want to play this game, outside of PvE, and enjoy it.
