I'll just go and suggest sub.

Take that any way you wish.

    Nope. Still combat.

Just look at the daggers. They added the 45% damage buff to sinister strike for a reason.

Eh, that one is up in the air right now, with how long combat takes to proc. Numerous threads about it.

    Goodiest?

Assassination is, from what I've read up on, the worse of the 3 specs regardless of what stage of the daggers you're on. According raidbots.com, Assassination is currently the worst parsing DPS out there. I'm not too sure how accurate it is, but I know if you have a fight where you need to choose combat or assassination (due to sub not being viable), combat will pull better numbers.
Thanks to Snow White for the profession image for this awesome sig!

Explanation of why all specs gain relatively similarly from stage 1/stage 2 daggers aside, if you want to find out which spec is ahead if well-played in your current gear, use Shadowcraft. It will allow you to change your spec and reforging appropriately to model your potential DPS.

Honestly it depends on your raid comp which spec to run. And although assassination is the "lowest" dps spec for rogues all of the specs are very competitive. I currently run assass due to the fact we are a 10man and we need the COE buff I provide. I in no way hinder our raid because of my spec because even though im Assass I still do great numbers. It depends on what you prefer and what spec you want to play in my opinion because all three specs are so close dps wise.

No, assassination is still clearly behind. It is not up in the air. Now, maybe which spec gains the most from the proc itself is up in the air, but its pretty clear now that lots of people have them that the proc doesn't save assassination.

To go with what a lot of people are saying, the 2 best specs are combat and sub. Assassination does not have anything unique that could set it above the other 2 specs. It does not beat either spec in single target dps and combat's cleave is far more efficient. In reality, combat is the best spec overall, but sub does do very well on many fights. You just need to determine your raids needs and use the proper spec.

Also note about combat and the legendary daggers, at-least with my latest look at the theory crafting, the DW axe is still the best main-hand for combat. While the 45% sinister an MG does help, using the main hand dagger does create issues else where such as less IP procs and lower KS damage.

Combat is more allrounder so I would say combat if you really wanna choose only one spec out of all the three good specs.

The proc on the daggers more than makes up for those losses though, and even with the effect just being modeled as static agility, for my gear the daggers showed a decent (though no where near the legendary staff) gain.

After long, and elaborate testing, which included dummy, LFR, and various test in old content that i solo, i have to say that even though i never was a fan of combat - it's still a better spec for anything PvE.

    shame on you!!11

Combat is (sadly) the best spec, but i'll stick to assassination, regardless of it's weakness. ^^

Thing is, i don't really PvE besides LFR, and occasional heroic. And the advantage of combat, is that i can easily stay in top 5 dps, while watching "the office" on another screen.

Yes, i'm an LFR slacker. I said it, i meant it, i'm here to represent it.

    Sub > Combat > Assas

And i was justifying occasional use of a spec that i don't like that much =)

Anyhow, i'm PvP sub like 95% of the time, so it's all good =)

I'm still assassination and always was 1-3 in TOP DPS in LFR. I just have... Funny rotation + much experience.
