    Guild Wars lore and books!!

Ok i am of course a huge GW2 fan and can't wait for the release.

What book/s should i read to gain a better experience of GW2 when i play it? I've heard of Ghost of Acolon (or something like that), is this the onyl one? If not whichs should i read and in what order?

The reason i ask is I have not played GW1 (off-topic: and don't intend to, though i'm happy for you to convince me otherwise and i might just depending on your points) and so have no understanding/knowledge of Guild Wars lore.

    Cheers :>

There are two books. Also you can read the Guild Wars wiki. The best way to get it, in my opinion, is to play the game but if you don't like the game then that's not really an option. You can also check the lore sections of Guild Wars Guru and Guild Wars 2 Guru

Really, the main way to truly understand what the game is about is to play GW1. It is still a really good game, I usually go on everyday to do a mission. Oh yeah, it's mainly (60%, I'd say) mission-based stuff, instead of doing dungeons and daily quests.

One thing I found myself doing when I started was to talk to every NPC and find out every little tidbit of lore I could, and it made the game so interesting (self-confessed lorehound :3) rather than just going out and mindlessly doing missions and a few quests.

So really, if you're looking to get the lore, just go on GW1 (the games and campaigns are quite cheap and the servers are surprisingly active) and look around a bit and see what the game's all about. The wiki might help a bit too.

Yes, both Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny are good reads. Both packed with lore and characters that bring Tyria to life. Well worth reading.
Wiki is also good, and check out some of these from the arentnet blog for:
