I'd most assuredly have an issue with the extremely close quarters ( MIR submersible is 6 feet 10 inches (2.1 meters) in diameter and is specifically designed to carry three people ) for 8.5-10 hrs, I'll likely never have the money for it, & even if I ever did come into that kind of money I can't ever imagine blowing $59k + on a single trip, but WOW.
I wasn't a huge fan of the 1997 movie, but always felt such deep pangs of melancholy about Titanic, even as a kid, so I cried while reading this info about this dive. :*(
So anyway, which one of these "futuristic" travel modes intrigues you the most? Jet-pack? Check. Driverless electric pods @ Heathrow Airport? Yes plz. Private Lunar Soyuz rocket trip around the Moon? Ohfuckme!yes, I'll take whatever I have to to control the claustrophobia. My ears will probably pop & bleed but I'll be right near the Moon so it's ok <3
Definitely the jetpack. There are working models right now as the article said, but most of them are either completely impractical or require extensive training.
Some of those things didn't really have much to do with travel though. Oh well.
