Fire mage on ultrax hc

Our fire mage always seem to be the lowest dps, but he says he's doing everything right, any tips for him?

No pots on the try i checked. Too few combustion for his 4 set bonus. Only 3 on a fight that lasts 5:30 +. Should be easily able to squeeze out 5 combustions during that time.

Bw sucks for fights without the need of burst dmg. Get an Int trinket instead. Is using Mastery Gems + Mastery enchants Should be crit. Way over the haste cap for fire. To much Hit.

There is alot of things wrong, not only his performance in the raid but gear wise also.

Most likely a troll, but if not, gear isn't revolved around minmaxing, secondary stats are totally uncared of.

His average Combustion ticks are below average for his gear level. He should be getting around 30-35k combustion crits on average. His average is 25k. Either he is not popping Combustion at the right time, or he doesn't really know how the spell works.
His Living Bomb uptime is also a little bit low. 80% for all Ultraxion fights when it should be 90%+.
He also should be reforging as much of that haste as possible into crit. His haste needs to be no more than 1505 rating. He currently has over 1000 more haste than he needs. I could be mistaken on this, I guess, but in my experience, reforging into crit from haste to get as close to 1505 haste as possible definitely gives an increase in DPS, making combustions better, and obviously giving more instant pyroblasts. The only reason that he could be reforging into the haste is for another breakpoint on DoTs. Trust me when I say the extra crit is wayyyyy worth it.
His gemming is also just silly. As previously stated, he is missing two tinkers and a JC gem. But.......his 391 Flowform Choker is BiS throughout Dragon Soul and doesn't have an epic gem in it. He put 3 epic gems in other pieces of gear before he put them in BiS pieces.......kinda ridiculous if I do say so myself.

i was wondering, how do you easily squeeze out 5 combustions on 5:30 fight? is there a trick to do that? i imagine with a lot of luck i would be, but easily?
also, on start, is it better to wait for 10 stacks even when you get a great ignite, or combust on less stacks with great ignite?

Wait... what? You'd be willing to give out great ignite? that shit is worth billions! = yes use it when you see big ignite, that's how you can squeeze out those 5 combustions.

If it's at the start of a fight, you have Velocity (Insignai proc for 26%) and Time Warp/Heroism etc up most likely. Even if you're only on like 5 stacks you should use combustion then because those extra stacks and the benefit of all pots/procs together gives you your strongest combustion of the fight with a lot more tics.

^^ This, he is running at 1000 over the current haste he should be at, 2500 haste is kind of ridiculous. He should be at 1505 haste,....he's missing a JC gem and has mastery enchants (for fire this is a big no no). He can definitely reforge the haste in his staff trinket and ring into crit and see an increase in dmg. As of right now his secondary stats are so messed up nothing is going to change unless he fixes it.

1) His haste is in the right place if he was getting DI and has all the haste raid buffs. He isn't getting DI for your Ultra attempts and therefore a lot of haste is going to waste and should be reforge to crit. Don't reforge it down to 1505 though. That is the minimum haste needed to get to the next haste plateau, but the general consensus is that 1850 (or around there) is the best route to go. You also achieve another tick of combustion during Hero if I remember right
1a) Gear has been addressed a lot already. He needs to change trinket, gems (int or int/crit), and then run RAWR on his character
1b) The empty glyph slot is a minor and doesn't change anything.

2) His combustions are way too low. I set a 20k ignite threshold for myself at the very least.

3) Somewhere in all those attempts he cast 4 Pyroblast (non-instant). You can't precast on Ultra and there shouldn't be any non-instant Pyros

The mage probably isn't trolling, he just cba to look up stuff when he doesn't give shit about pve. He probably just wants cunning. Also, he's not just an arena player, he's easily one of the best pvpers in the world. The priest in the group, Jessrabbit, is Hydra aka 9 time rank 1 and most bomb ass priest in the world. They could easily outperform the majority of the raiding community if they were willing to read up a little. The OP is obviously trolling.
