2.26GHz or 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed
    1066MHz frontside bus
    2GB (two 1GB SO-DIMMs) or 4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 8GB

I need to know, Was thinking of buying it for $600

    Thanks In Advance.
Thats basicly minimum specs for GW2, so don't expect for it to do much more than run at low settings, you'll struggle once you get some action on screen in WvW or a big event.

    Hi Quanille,

I appreciate the fast response. I guess it only makes sense to spend some more money and get something better.

I would definitely say you can get something much better for even a small amount ($100-200) more, at least if you build it yourself. Of course, since that's a laptop (based on the presence of the 9400M) if you want a laptop that can handle it well you'd probably pay ~2x the cost.

Isn't that the truth. I wanted to get a Mac but it seems that for this time i'm going to just have to hold off on that.

sadly, can you run it only bases your performance on the required minimum specs, as the recommended specs haven't been released yet (to the best of my knowledge).

That said, how do you think I'll run it on higher settings?
    -Windows 7
-Intel Core i7 CPU 870, 2.93 (CPU has Turbo Boost, and it runs at 3.19GHz)
    -8gb RAM
-ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (I don't know the exact model. The computer was bought in a store, and I'm unsure what chipset manufacturer Dell uses)
    -1TB HD (Not SSD)

Don't think you need to worry, GPU isn't top of the line, but should run fine anyway.

What will I be able to run GW2 on? I saw my CPU listed on the minimum specs and it got me worried.
Minimum specs really? O.o might be because u have so little RAM, consider getting another 4gb to boost up to 8, and you should be able to run it on high. Your RAM is killing you since you're using 64-bit Windows. But those specs can run the Witcher and like games on high (with 8gb RAM), GW2 can't touch those games in terms of how demanding it is on your system.

In case I didn't make myself clear, get some RAM! :P It's cheap anyways..

Guys, what do you use to monitor gpu/cpu temperatures on laptops? I used to have HWmonitor for my desktop but it doesn't seem in this case.

I use EVGA PrecisionX because I have an EVGA card, but they're both the same thing.
You don't need to use the overclock part of the software, just use it for the temp graph.
