    Just hit 85..what now?

    Hi all,

As the title indicates, I just hit 85 on my sexy Mage yesterday. Although this is my second 85, it's the first one I'm actually wanting to raid with. I haven't done any raiding in Cata yet and will likely depend on the RF for the first little bit. SO - my question becomes, where do I start in terms of gear and stuff?

I have little under 2000 JP and figure this will be the best place to start. I'm looking at the 3 Firehawk (I think?) pieces I can get for JP.

Anyways, can I get some advice on this? Also, some advice on what to run although I suspect it'll just be gear for heroics and run them? Anyways, advice...

EDIT: Lack of response makes me a sad and confused panda.

The same place you start any character, Dungeons and Heroics?

If you have the gold/mats to obtain the 377 pvp stuff though, then you'll have quite high ilev before running any Heroics and can get straight into HoT Heroics for some 378 gear, then into LFR at 372 ilev. You don't even need to equip the 377 blue pvp gear as LFD/LFR only check what your highest possible ilev is from all the gear you have. I tend to just use them on my chars though, thats probably because I have more gold than sense.

Not sure what's so confusing about gearing though. You say you have another char at 85 so must have done it all before and if not, it's pretty simple.

Start doing normals And start getting some rep with the diffrent factions You'll need the rep for some gear and shoulder/head enchants, and the normals for some gear, after getting 333Ilevel, go to the normal hc's and then after getting high enough Ilevel you can enter the Hour of Twillight hc's, after getting the req Ilevel there, you can go find a raiding guild ^^

    1. Buy enough 377 PvP gear until you can run HoT heroics
    2. Buy 378 gear with JP
    3. Run enough heroics until you can get into LFR
    4. Keep doing LFR once per week and HoT heroics up until weekly VP cap
    5. Find a raid group or guild (assuming you don't already have one) when your gear is 378 minimum.

Eh.. that takes longer as necessary.

As Labz said, look for cheap 377 on the AH and spend your current JP on 378.
After that run the Call to Arms BG and get 390 gear (aim for the +hit pieces), you only need 353 for the HoT instances.
The quests rewards and loot from there are 378. You'll need 372 to enter LFR.

Read up in the Journal and know your class and you'll do just fine.
