    AV Weekend

    How much honor and xp do you get during the CAT AV weekend? I am currently level 55. This week before the CTA I was queued into an AV and got about 3/4 of a level after winning at level 53. It has been a long time since I've done an AV weekend. I don't really think I've done an AV weekend before when I had an alt that I was levelling that happened to happen at the same time of the CTA AV weekend. I either use to just miss it or had already reached 85 by then.

    If only when I que for a random I dont get AV cause its the CTA..

    Seriously, I hate AV and fail to see where this magical honor gain is coming from when the average game is like 35 minutes. If somehow the game ends fast then yea its great honor, but then its also PVE and boring as hell. Ive played 15 min AV's without seeing an enemy player besides riding by them at the start. WTB twin peaks weekend!

    Que with a tank, not a prot in pvp gear but an actual tank, throw in 2 heals and then just rush down south, cap east and west, then pull and kill drek. Takes 6 min tops......repeat all day long for 300-400 honor a pop.

    Yea would work as ally, horde are too busy trying to backcap and defend galv.. Even still, thats straight pve and boring as hell. Although it would be great gearing i'll admit.

    Indeed. Went in there on Friday. Did 3 matches. Lost the first 2 because everyone rushed North. Won the third one because it was a mix of Attack and Defense. Of course, the person "leading" the rush claimed to be a Vanilla HWL mage, to which i pointed out that they clearly aren't aware of how to win AV. I mean, i saw 8 months of the old AV (joined April 2007, 2.3 was released Nov 2007), never saw the troll at Snowfall but saw most of the other important stuff (even defending was commonplace then).

    I do love the release of a new major patch like 3.0 or 4.0 before the expansion, since everyone heads into AV and actually fights in order to test their new talents and ability changes.

    Still, XP is great so i might try and finish up on levelling my Hunter and DK. Perhaps move onto my mage if i finish getting those up to 80.

    At 60+, a win gives me 1/3 of a level. It's not as much, but sure beats questing and dungeon runs.

    i did it on my 81 warrior earlier, a win in AV with all towers / generals down got me about 15% xp, amazing ! but we rarely ever win lol

    Myself and about 4 other buds have been grinding av. We use Skype, head to dress room and continuously wipe alliance/ death grip important people into drek before a pull. It's actually pretty fun going 5v20+ with coordinated attacks and smoke bomb. We have won about 13/15 by just buying horde time to gather and attack their boss. I'm having a blast )

    Play defense in FW or DB, or at mid towers. Easy.

    I geared my Hunter in FULL 390 in just over a day because of AV. Loosing games yielded 250-375 Honor whereas WINS yielded 450-700 honor which is bar none, the best form of Honor you can get.
