I've noticed a lot of top PvP players...

    1) Play with the stock Blizz UI or very few addons

    2) Play female characters

Is there a reason for that? Just curious.

I play with the Stock UI b/c I'm lazy. I hate setting everything back up after a new patch. I'm SUPER cautious when it comes to add-ons as I was hacked on my old PC and again, I'm lazy.

I play female NE b/c I remember how awesome they were in WC3. The orcs called them warrior women. And they front flip.

Yes, because you have to use the blizzard's default UI at tournaments.

As for #2 let's face it. Every Alliance player is obviously Human (who didn't see that coming) for PvP purposes, and the male just looks awful with it's animation.

because the default UI has everything you need to function without flooding the screen with unnecessary crap.

as for the female char thing, those are their waifus.

    1.) what he said

2.) pvper's have a masculinity inferior complex. They argue that playing in 3rd person means "staring at one's ass" and so being the homophobic, insecure, and virgin gamers that most of us/them are, they always play females.

Makes you wonder what they do when they're not pvping doesnt it? makes you wonder about all those naked females dancing on top of the mail boxes and who is actually on the other side of that monitor... and what they are doing. O.o

This. Might as well use what you have to use during competition. You don't see pro baseball players using corked bats or basketball players using 9 foot hoops in practice.

I guess the baseball player one is a bad analogy but for the most part, they don't use corked bats in competitive play >.>

As for the female bit... I don't see why a man has to play a male or a female has to play a male. Its Role Playing for a reason, cause it isn't you! =-)

I haven't seen an official tournament but that makes perfect sense.

Female human animations aren't much better.

    1. This is because the top PvP'rs often play other characters which are not their own.

    2. I'm not sure about why this is. More often than not, they're female humans. The males look gross.

They play with the default ui because it's one less thing to handicap them when they play in tournaments.

No real explanation for the female avatar thing. Personally I think so many play female characters because their attack animations tend to look better. I haven't played wow in a few months now but i think most of the female attack animations are shorter in length than their male counterparts.

Like others have said the default ui is very clean and functional and you can create a better ui with addons but sometimes it's too much of a hassle to set up a ui for new character and new patches. More than a few top players boost and play on multiple accounts so that's another reason to just play with the default ui and not mess around with addons.

I hadn't thought about that but I should have. I imagine it makes it easy to just disable all the other person's addons and play with Blizz UI they're already used to. As for number 2, there's probably some truth to that but I also see it a lot when they're horde.

2.) Is a completely logical argument to make. /sarcasm.

I often play female characters for the sole fact they are usually smaller slightly than male counterparts and for bad clickers it makes you slightly harder to target.
