    Effloresence Help

Hi all first time posting and would love some advice on how to use Effloresence, i've read the guide on here and EJ but i'm still non the wiser, I know you must be thinking how can someone possibly be this stupid well ... I don't know.

So specifics are this at the moment, I'm 7/8 normal DS, and 8/8 LFR but still i haven't mastered how to use this, my effective pie usually places effloresence at 8th in my list, and i know it should be top 3. Usually i place swiftmend on the tank, which after 2 days of scouring forums i realize this is wrong and should be placed on a melee, someone suggested a rogue in one of the guides i've read. But if you can give me an idiotproof guide on how to use this, i'd really appreciate it.

Siniq Stormrage EU if anyone wants to give advice on anything else is where you will find my toon, i am still trying to get to the 2005 haste cap, before i raided with a warlock so i didn't need to push for it.

Anyway it's a learning to play issue and hope you guys on here can really help me out as i know i should be doing way more healing than i actually am doing.

Thanks all, i was always told if you don't know something ask. Hence the post.

i usually drop it on a melee dps. That way it typically hits all the melee dps. If you use it on the tank, a lot of times only the tank(s) will be in range.

Most of the time? I swiftmend myself, I cannot always control where melee will stack or where ranged will stack but I sure as hell can control where I myself am standing, ensuring optimal efflorence uptime. I ALWAYS swiftmend on CD, with the constant stacking in all of DS fights efflorence is such a huge portion of our heal it should be up most of the time.

On fights where you can accurately predict stacking (spine, ultraxion, tentacle boss nightmare phase) you want to swiftmend off a feral with the 20% healing received or a rogue with the similar talent. On ultraxion this makes a HUGE difference with red buff, especially off a critical swiftmend.
    I liek fysix

Should be using it on a Resto Shaman with the +15% healing taken talent.

As said above, on stacking phases use it on feral druid, resto shaman or rogue with the talent!
    Very big difference

Or a holy/prot paladin because +6% healing taken.

This folks is how you ask a question.

OT: Its been said but, When stacked swiftmend someone with a healing multiplier, BM hunter, Rogue with points in quickening, shaman with the heal talent, Holy/Prot pallies, Warriors, Hpriest who may or may not be using Blessed Resilience (odds are if you are stacked the incoming dmg would proc it though many pass over the talent in favor of more throughput talents).

(mostly just wanted to complement the question)

    Thanks again.

Like it was said before, you can always swiftmend yourself to control exactly where you want efflo to go. I dont use any myself, but there are raid frame addons that will indicate the target with the most people in range.

You can also track Blessed Resilience on Holy Priests. That's a 30% increased healing on proc.

Cat druids are good targets as well, if they specced into their 20%(I think) healing taken while in catform. I usually do it on myself, though, because that way I can control where it lands, and hit as many people as possible. If I can get the Grid plugin to work, I'll do it on the biggest cluster, though.

Hunter tank pets have +40% healing, btw. This is incredibly useful for Yorsahj purple combos and Ultraxion.

Thanks for all the help guys, managed to push my effloro up from 8th on my effective healing pie to 4th, so slowly getting there i know it needs to be top 3 and im working on it. Great resto community here, appreciate all the pointers.

I normally just swiftmend myself, so i can control where the circle is. I normally run ontop of a group of people and swiftmend.

I try to swiftmend on the person needing it the most (or where it will hit most of the players), or just myself to have the efflorence more controlled.
It all depends on the fight .. just dont be shy to use it on someone that actually needs the heal but isnt always with the biggest group of people.

Knowing where to place Effloresence is a combination of buff knowledge and triage healing:

By being aware of who gains extra healing through talents - very well covered above - you can easily decide who to throw down that circle on during "stack & heal" mechanics. At these points in a fight (or simply, all of Ultraxion), being stacked allows you to maximize your healing effectiveness; the odds of one person getting wrecked during these phases are few and far between.

Healing in general now requires the ability to distinguish who is in most need of an immediate heal; gone are the days of Wrath's one-shot mechanics (and thank goodness). On fights that require periodic movement or spreading out, placement becomes a matter of triage. Most of the time, you get the most effective healing from throwing Effloresence down in melee, since it is bound to encompass multiple targets. I'm personally a bit of a WoW cynic when it comes to positioning, and thus will usually revert to Swiftmending myself in order to place the circle where I want it to be. You may have more faith in your raid group, though :P

In the end, it boils down to who needs healing most. Triage is a powerful thing if used liberally.
