    Delaying MS for OP

I remember reading somewhere that delaying mortal strike for overpower allowed one to use more overpowers, resulting in a dps increase. I searched for information related to this, but I was unable to find anything definitive. Can anyone confirm or deny this notion? Also, if it is a dps gain, how do I go about introducing this into my rotation successfully? Should I configure some sort of timer for TfB's ICD? Any comments are appreciated.

Nothing is giving you more Overpowers than 1 each 5sec (if u use it)

Well, of itself, no. With the marginal understanding I have of this, I think it has something to do with mortal strike refreshing rend and causing damage from rend to be delayed. The result then would be less overpowers.

hm...i can't give you an exact answer to that, but along with cata launch or patch 4.0 (if i'm not too mistaken) a slight change with mechanics of dots came, which allowed to refresh dots 1 tick before expiring and not losing that tick

knowing that, i SUPPOSE that even if you reapply/refresh rend at a different time than mortal strike cd, it should make no difference with the amount of procs that you get

i am interested in this now too, i have a warrior wich i always use as prot, but from time time i go and dps as arms

Wasn't the other way around? delaying OP for MS to enrage thus increasing it's uptime? and using all the skills under its effect?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but maybe this will help:

You can carefully watch your TfB durations so that you get two overpowers back-to-back while NOT delaying MS. I know that this doesn't directly answer your question, but it will allow you to spend less time in Battle Stance and more time in Berserker Stance (where we want to be).

I use Inline Aura (addon) to track how long I have on my TfB procs, and when I see it at 4sec remaining, I hit my Overpower macro to switch to Battle Stance, and then during the GCD incurred after hitting that overpower, TfB procs again, so as soon as the GCD is up from the first Overpower, I have the ability to use it again, and then during the GCD incurred during the second Overpower, I hit my Mortal Strike macro to take me back into Zerker Stance and hit Mortal Strike as it's coming off CD.

No, this may not net you more Overpowers, but your overall damage will be higher since you'll be spending less time in Battle Stance. I suggest practicing this on a target dummy before using it in a raid.

TL;DR I explain the double-overpower method, while admitting that I don't know how to get "more overpowers" while delaying MS. Also, it should be known that delaying MS is almost always a bad idea!

The idea here is to cast ms right on the 5 second mark, when the icd of taste for blood refreshes so that you can use overpower every 5 second(instead of 6).So you tradeoff 0.5 seconds of ms uptime and 1/3rd of a gcd,for 1more second of op uptime and the rage you didn't use for that 1/3rd of an ms which you can dump into hs.Even if it's a dps gain it's so difficult abd marginal that you will definitely lose from doing it.

Yeah I never delay it. I just thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion, after I watched some players (namely Troyzilla, and somewhat Landsoul on his Madness HC kill) delaying Mortal Strike. Still, I'd be interested to hear if other people have direct experience with this.

This is the important part. It can be a gain in theory, it will never be one in practice because you can't pull it off, no one can.
