    Help with shadowcraft

Hi guys (and girls if theres any out there besides me :-)) )

I think I'm doing something wrong with shadowcraft, i use it for all reforging and what not but when i use my gear and the standart sub build with glyphs i get 39943.1 dps, with auto reforge. when i use a hemo build same gear, no puncturing, 2 in ruthlessness and 3 in coup...with hemo, s & d and evi glyph i get 40106.6 dps, with auto reforge.
So my question is, should i be using backstab or not?....i was under the impression a backstab build was more dps than a hemo build......would appreciate any input, or help....maybe i am just to dumb and am doing something wrong
    thanks in advance

    can't post any links but

Your Hemo build has 39315.9 DPS, and your Backstab build is doing 39169.8 DPS. 200 DPS difference in favor of Hemo.
But, if you put in Glyph of Evis instead of Glyph of Hemo for your Backstab build:
You'll be doing 39542.7 DPS, in favor of Backstab.

Regardless, a Backstab build w/ Evis glyph or Shadow Dance glyph is better in my experience.

hey Carp....thanks for your reply.....so i should continue with backstab build and change hemo glyph to evi? correct??....didn't try that in the setup....my fault..should have put in ALL possibilities. does the 4 t13 stack with shadow dance glyph? or would evi glyph with 4 t13 be better......sorry for my noobness

at any rate, i will check again with shadowcraft and i thank you for checking the numbers for me

Danyka -- Shadowcraft has some issues modeling the DPS gain from glyph of Hemo in the normal backstab CP gen setup. If you're using glyph of Hemo for your backstab lineup (which is a DPS increase) it won't show one for your sim, at all, because it doesn't model you replacing 1 backstab with 1 hemo every 24s, in and outside FW. 4T13 does stack with glyph of ShD, but (for normal -> normal or heroic -> heroic) you'll see a higher DPS gain from using 2p T12 and 2p T13 (shoulders and gloves being BiS for lowest loss of stats in return for 2p).

Proper use of hemo in a backstab build (missing the modeling in SC) does result in almost as high a DPS increase as using glyph of hemo in a hemo spec. Non-hemo sub is perfectly viable if you've got someone else applying a bleed to the target on the opening, and is only a very minor DPS loss for a loss of relative complexity.

ShadowCraft does support hemo weaving, it's just ShadowCraft UI that doesn't. So if you want to go all out with min-maxing, go go download the backend and you can play with various spec builds.
    Faenara - combat rogue | <Helios> - Argent Dawn-EU - 8/8HC | Madness of Deathwing 10H (holy paladin PoV) - 3 healers + 1.5 tanks strategy

    hi guys
thanks for all the replies......helped me out a great dedal...much appriciated
i only raid (if thats what you can call it) in lfr, so min maxing isn't really an issue....i play what is the most fun for me. However, everyone wants to make the most of their char so i do try to use programms like shadowcraft, sometimes i have a little trouble understanding it all
i have been coming to this forum for about 3 years and i am very thankful you guys took the time to help me................keep up the great work

    correct.

and seting it to hemo makes it only use hemo. and never backstab as seen by the fact it then values the backstab glyph at 0

set it to backstab build and remove the 3rd glyph then add on what people have simmed the damg of hemo glyph actualy provides.

to get a rough idea for yourself compare your average hemo glyph tick + the average damg from the initial application and compare all of that to a single backstab.

then divide the damg done by each ability by the energy it cost to cast.

then realise hemo is way move as long as you get the full dot duration.
