All these people saying that it doesnt quite fit with the lore.... so, let me get this straight (no pun intended): a green orc can fall in love with a pasty skin human, but if it is another orc from the same sex suddently the sky is burning?

I'm a heterosexual player and i have no problem with this, both irl or ingame. i mean, as long as they aren't shoving it down anyone else's throat (once again, no pun intended), i couldn't care less if someone i know preferes hotdogs or burritos.

How can he lead on his race, and honor his family name if he refuses to get a mate? The orcs are very cultural and conservative, so they will commonly shy such things as gays, and lesbians.
If you wish to roleplay a gay char, atleast do it in secret IN CHARACTER. Others will not accept that you have to scream out in their face that you are gay. Find a male to RP with in-game, but keep it a secret to the rest of your clan/warband and your friends.

They are also practical, so it wouldn't surprise me if a gay orc would have kids with a lesbian orc to cover their "problems" while both dating an orc of their own gender.

Eh, admittedly when I RP, I usually play off my characters as either hetero or asexual.

I don't mind gay or lesbian characters, generally as said, as long as people don't get all "OMG MY CHARACTER IS GAY I AM SPECIAL LOOK AT ME." I personally don't care.

Though it does annoy me to no end when I see the near literal tons of female draenai who basically roll one to just get flirty with another female draenai, if the story is good, it's fine, if people are doing it for the sheer sake of ERP it bugs me.

Don't know anyone here saying it doesn't fit with the lore. We're saying it doesn't fit in orcish culture, and so that's why he was snubbed by the other orc RPer. It's like RPing a black man in a white neighborhood in the 1950s. You can do that and it is possible, but don't expect to be greeted with open arms.

As if I would have said it myself.

OP: You may just have met some narrowminded person or maybe their character was narrowminded, idk.

What do you REALLY know about relations within the orc culture?

If you wanted to play a gay toon that much id suggest rolling a Human, seriously a gay Orc would just be wrong.

It's an orc for Christ's sake, "BLOOD AND HONOR", "LOK'TAR OGAR". I don't think they're accustomed to rainbow parades and glitter bombs, you can't prejudice them for being "narrow-minded". It's cultural.

Cause EVERY single Orc is all masculine and cares for nothing but blood and fighting.
Also, Gay totally equals parades and glitter bombs all the time!
And! EVERYONE cares about culture, no thinking outside of the box whatsoever or not caring at all.

Nice narrow mindedness yourself there, chap.

Being homosexual does not fit into the game setting.
It's a sad excuse to say it does. Nothing at all points to it being the case.
I'd also point out that if Chris Metzen had said "no" to the "Will we soon see any homosexual characters in lore soon?" there would have been an outcry from a certain group of people.
If you want to do it, don't do it public and be outward with it. Just like in real life, it will feel awkward to most people to see two male characters (or female) having a relationship, so be cautious.

In Orc culture you'd probably be seen as a weak-minded individual and be exiled though, they like tradition and having a family to take care of.

I think there is a problem with roleplaying a gay character, the same problem there is with roleplaying a straight character actually. It is very difficult to build a character around its sexuality and it is very likely that is will go out of hand if it's not done carefully. Now of course if it's just a trait there is nothing wrong with it.

You're not thinking. Read the fucking OP. He's complaining about another RPer who snubbed him, and he's pointing it down to close-mindedness, when the RPer could very well just be RPing, because that would be their culture.

It doesn't matter if it's not everyone. It doesn't matter if it's just a few orcs who are gay. What matters is the culture, and you can't expect the majority of orcs to respond to you willingly if you act gay. You don't have to be a genius to figure out that a culture that reveres a masculine, dominant, jackass leader like Garrosh as a War Chief won't be open to man on man action.

I'm sure you think I'm homophobic now, which I'm not. I'm just reading this from the culture of the Orcs, which is the point of RPing.

    .
That's exactly what a gay man is, apart from the stereotype of effeminate men.

I'm closing this thread. It's obvious that this won't go anywhere.
