Maybe they like the little extra challenge of leveling without a guild? It's not like you -have- to be in guild to enjoy the game.

This was true before there was guild Levels and perks.Being in a guild should be a commitment. Lots of us prefer not to commit to anything unless we're really ready to commit.
Now with guild levels and perks it spawned a whole bunch of "leveling guilds" I even run one myself...theres like 800 accounts in my guild...and we don't do anything serious...the guild is just full of casuals/LFRers/farmers/whatevers. They have no commintment to the guild, they can leave at any time without any reason....I don't see why people don't join them...if you don't want to see guildchat and guild achievements you can simple disable the guildchat in your chat settings and you wont ever see it.
You're only doing yourself a disfavor.
When I join a guild, I consider myself making a commitment to it. To try to stick to the guild until the bitter end. Therefore I carefully chose the guilds I join. Also the unguilded alts are those that I barely play, or at least don't really play to play that long.

~Though this be madness, yet there is method in't~
I'm only playing these days to do the Ironman Challenge -- it's surprisingly fun -- and one of the rules is: no guild (unless it is a level 1 IC guild).
Prior to this most of my characters were not in guilds because I usually don't like them.
I just made a Night elf priest and having a blast. Now my main is Horde and in a decent guild,
But with a 7pc heirloom set,Leveling is a non issue. Seriously, even without the heirlooms its a joke now
And with Vent and Battle net friends,I don't see a need until I want to do endgame on this alt.
Btw, I agree: with heirlooms leveling is so far beyond easy that the only challenge is staying awake. It's even easy in quest greens and blues. If you want a challenge, and thus want to enjoy leveling -- instead of just get through it to hit cap -- look into the Ironman Challenge.
It is often about the expectations of others.
If someone is aware of your alts then they can choose to pester you when you simply want an escape, some down-time away from the demands of your main.
Perks are not why I join a guild, but instead for the people in it.
To contribute on MY terms, and not those dictated by someone else.
I just generally hate when people randomly invite you to some stupid guild. It's inpolite and they won't have me in their roster with that attitude.
So many stubborn people in this thread here lol. These guys still think this is 2005 of something. It's 2012 in WoW. 99% of people don't talk to eachother, they login - do whatever the hell they do and log out. It's amazing how you guys are like "OMG DONT WANNA COMMIT OR READ GREEN TEXT OR GET BOTHERED ON ALT" have you even played WoW since they introduced guild levels and perks? THERE IS NO COMMITMENTS. I run a 1000 member guild with over 800 individual accounts and I couldn't give a fuck or know a single person in the guild. They're all only in it because of perks. They get a bonus (the perks) and so do i (the gold). Nothing is expected of anyone...hell people in the guild still charge eachother for ports/summons/enchants/gems....because all it is for perks...nothing else...welcome to WoW in 2012...get use to it boys.

I have no urge to put another character in a level-whatever guild. I've fallen for that 'you get to use the perks line' too many times now and the glamor has kind of worn off.![]()
What boggles me about these threads is the people acting like those of us who DON'T want to join a random guild we don't care about and line some greedy twit's pockets are the ones doing something wrong, not the aforementioned greedy twits spamming unsolicited guild invites at people until you're finally forced to ignore and/or report them to make the spam stop.
This - some of the perks can be speed some things up, but its not something you cant live without. Being able to pug a raid or LFR means you do not need a guild at all to do the things there is in the game. Only reason I´m in a guild atm is due to its old (and not loosing that bit now) and some friends there.

The word you want to use is "have" not "of".
You may have alot of stuff in your country, but we got Lolland.
