    Does Safeguard stack with 4-set

Does Safeguard stack with the raid wide Shield Wall?

The fellow warrior tank I'm with on Ultrax HM thinks they do not, but it doesn't make sense to me for them not to stack.

I haven't tested this myself, but I think it will just stack, I see no reason why it wouldn't. I don't think they'll work additive though. If you have a 100k attack, it won't erduce the damage by 50% (20% for the 4-set + 30% for safeguard), but it will reduce it by 20% and then the remaining damage is reduced by another 30%. Meaning it will reduce about 44% of the incoming damage.

The buff is called for frotress or something so they should stack.

Of course they do. All defensive CDs with a percentual damage reduction stack multiplicatively.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I can persuade them they do stack next raid by linking this thread.

remember they stack multiplicative, not additive.
so if you got 20% reduction, and another one with 30%, its actually (100%*(100%-20%)*(100%-30%)=56% damage taken (slightly overkill if you don't have enough stamina)
shielding the said person in time will assure survival.

Not quite; it's 44% damage reduction in your example.
