Do you notice the background events?

Do you actually notice when the human soldiers twirl their rifles in the Southern Barrens?

Do you notice the fire turtles eating the fire scorpions eating the tiny fire beetles in the firelands?

Do you notice the defias members discussing the one irrational bursting steampipe in the deadmines, and how neither wants to tell ripsnarl about it?

    If so, then list them.
    I am Horde.

    One of my personal favourites.

Silvermoon has a lot of these little segments now I think of it, though pretty much all of them (that one included) could do with bringing up to date.

I'll often find myself just looking at the different features objects and wonder how many people just pass it by and don't notice it

I just noticed today that when you check the mailbox with a female goblin, she unrolls a scroll and reads it. Then when you close the mailbox, she rolls the scoll up and puts it away. Little touches like that are really nice.

In Dragonblight I noticed a polar bear with her cub. As I watched the mother /pointed at a critter and the cub rushed forward and killed it. That was awesome :-)

That animation is actually relatively new (like, 2 patches ago or so), and ALL characters do it when reading mail or looking at the map.

Yeah, it doesn't really follow the whole 'redemption' storyline, does it?

WoW is full of such things. In Sholazar Basin near Nesingwary's camp (crash site) on a opposing river bank there is a place with Long-Necks and sabre cats. Those cats prey on those Long-Necks. No particular place as it's common behavior of wolfs. If they spot a critter (bunny or a squirrel) they'll attack it and kill.

NPCs also comment things. In Borean Tundra, your very first quest there - report to one officer after you arrive. He sits before desk and there are 2 lines of eager to-be soldiers (mainly miners and villagers). When you go straight to the guy and hand in quest someone will remark: "Too good to wait in line?" or something similar.

Yesterday I noticed something like this (didin't noticed who said that as I ported from there a sec after):
"I have read a book that contained all gnomish and goblin war effort victories. All pages blank. Figures"

    - While passing by, I see the Grizzly bears eat Salmons out of the creeks in Northrend.
    - I notice Morchok in the background, when flying on the Bronze drake in Hour of Twilight.
    - When attacking certain animals in Scholazar, I see the little bird fly off their heads in fear.

    Enable sound.
    Find NPC.
    Click on him (leftclick)
    Listen to what he says.
    Click on him again.
    Listen again.
    Click again.
    Carry on.

In the end he gets mad, amuses me

That's been a feature of all Warcraft games since WC2: many of the emotes they come out with now are the same ones from the RTS games. This is the same for lots of the peon and peasant worker npcs throughout WoW and provides a nice bit of continuity.

Doesn't make it less relevant, or less fun for that matter!

Similar, yet not the same, and very old is the background sounds in Undercity.

Plays through Arthas's return to Lordaeron after finding Frostmourne.

I sat there for about an hour before I transfered to Alliance

He also says something along the lines of; "Stupid Alliance army, just had to build a tower right behind my farm." Apparently he lost his farm, becoming a beggar.

This references a common War3 strategy where you'd surround a guard tower with cheap-to-make farms, so enemy melee units would have to destroy a farm to get to the tower. The tower would get a lot of extra hits in before even getting touched.
