I'll admit that a lot of the dialogue in X isn't perfectly delivered. Hell, some of it sucks. As evidenced by my posts in this thread, X isn't even my favorite. This scene, however, gets far more flak than it needs to. They performed to the script. Could it have been toned down to be a little less over the top? Sure, but that's the directors fault.

Well, I never did blame the voice actors for this god awfulness.

Let this be a lesson to us all, never start a FF thread because people dont like the ff series, they like certain games, making these threads is asking for a flame war. And i probably will play this soon

(also ona side note, how can anyone like that secter boss in ff12, its got so much hp, its just boring, just the same crap over and over again lol)

I liked the battles, the Sphere Grid, and Auron.

I was just looking over this thread wondering why I remember liking 10, but couldn't think of anything besides the combat and story and thinking "those weren't that great, so why?". That's it. The Sphere Grid was so fun, it was the only thing to keep me playing. Geeze, having all the characters going around that and having some get passed was more fun than anything else in the game.

Now that itch is back, but I started playing through them all in order but I'm still stuck on 2. That game really doesn't want you to explore.

Final fantasy X is my favorite RPG of all time. The amount of things to do in that game makes it so great for me. You have blitzball, maxing sphere grid, maxing weapons, taming all monsters, beating all monster arena bosses, creating the best accessories in the game, defeating dark aeons etc.
If you compare it to FF7 where you have as much as maxing materia, winning battle arena for limit and raising a gold chocobo. I have completed FF7 in 20 hours with maxed materia, all limits and a gold chocobo.

If you think of it from that perspective, but as the gamer/viewer I did not enjoy it. And even then it was over the top.

I can appreciate that viewpoint. I just don't like it when people try to brush that scene off as just being a case of bad voice acting though, because there is more to it.

I don't consider that horror to be the fault of bad voice acting.

The thing is that there are so little gameplay in FF7. They had to remake and add so much.

Gotta agree with you on yaizmat I gave up at about 25% after about 3 hours of fighting that guy.I think it would be a lil awkward to play final fantasy vii with today's graphics hi res cross dressing cloud do not want lol.

I listen to the soundtrack all the time, but it never made me want to play it again. It's a good game, for what it is, but other then that I grew tired of it quickly.

If there was one thing that grated on my nerves with FF10 it was fucking Tidus. Perfect example of how someone shouldn't be written.

I liked X. I didn't love it, but I liked it. The story was one of the drawbacks to me, but more importantly the characters just didn't give me any sense of connection. I mean, heck, if I could have gone the entire game without ever using Wakka or Lulu, I would have.

However, I positively LOVED the battle system and the sphere grid. The battle system was the first time they had ever gone with a non-ATB approach. You could take time without pausing the game to figure out your next move, and furthermore bring in characters better suited for certain situations. Don't need to use your healer full time on that fight? Swap them in only when needed, and leave out brute force for the rest of the time. The sphere grid as a leveling system was the first time I ever felt I had complete and total customization control of my character. You could literally have any character do anything. Have Rikku bomb some black magic. Have Tidus use Mimic. Have Yuna steal. It took characteristics that I loved about both 6 and 7 and broke both of their barriers. I don't think any game could ever match that capability.

The music was also the greatest of any FF I've played (which has been all but 13 and the two online games). Though To Zanarkand was good, the best thing I liked funny enough was the opening cinematic song. Metal in an FF game? That was unique.

Depending on the added features of the remake, I will likely pick it up simply to reminisce. If it's just a carbon copy though, I can stick with the one I already have thank you.

X wasn't my favorite of all-time, VI was. However, X definitely makes my top 5 list.
