I would try to repeal it and if that repeal failed I would without a doubt quit WoW. I would then pursue GW2. I'll only be playing that game for it's PvP aspects, and the way they have it described I see the WvWvW more as more of a MOBA-style MMO than a battleground-style MMO, which has me excited. It's like LoL but with WoW-esque controls and over-the-should view.

Regardless of you making a point or not dude, why you try and hang around like this is just baffling. Do something else with your time. No matter how well thought out your posts may appear at first glance, it all boils down to you standing on a soapbox shouting "STOP ENJOYING THINGS!" from the top of your lungs.
What are you on about? He just asked the question, no indication at all to say whether OP still plays or not. Chill, Winston.

Id never buy a Blizzard product again.
In 2011, 70% of MMO revenue was from Free-To-Play.

If I didn't know what I did wrong, I would move on to another game.

Why? There would be no point in putting an effort into achievements, pets, mounts, etc. anymore, if they can be erased just like that. Just like after a burglary you don't feel like getting new stuff, because someone will come and steal it again anyways - Only that a super cool alarm system with direct police information and a wall mounted safe won't help in WoW to make you feel more secure again.

So a good motivation factor would fall apart because there would always be the question if it happens again. Hence, it wouldn't be entertaining anymore.

gonna say no.. id jus investigate why i got perm banned.. cause i dont do anything illegal on my account.. lol then call it quits.

    If the question is...

Is wow worth the money I paid then I think the answer is YES.

Would I start over.. NO regardless of cost, I have invested too much time in my charters to do that.

  7. #47
I would try to get it revoked.

If I couldn't, I would move on and find something else to play. I wouldn't want to start all over after all the grinding and crap I've done for the past 7 years getting achievements, mounts, and whatnot. Stuff that you can't go back and get anymore (black proto drake, Hand of Adal titles...etc)

It's simple cross-referencing with the OP's former posts in other, similar threads. Having had little luck with simply saying "WoW sucks and you are all fools for continueing to pay for this game", he has changed tactics. This is his thing. He now asks "insightful" questions like this to try and make a statement, and voice his opinion... one that no one asked for.

It's subtle though, I gotta admit and give props.

But if you dont believe me, just search for the OP's posts and you'll see that each of his posts follows a similar pattern. Gotta love a guy on a crusade. The fella got tenacity.

No, I'd rather spend the money on something else.

If i lost all that ive worked for in 7 years i would quit and be pissed off thats why i dont do stuff that would get you banned

  11. #51
I'd quit, because I don't remotely do fraudulent or otherwise bannable activities in game. If I was perma banned, it'd be a hit to my respect for a game I played since original beta and I'd never look at another WoW website, article, or related game again.

Yeah, if you are stupid enough to get yourself permanently banned? Then it'll TOTALLY show them when you don't play Diablo 3!

Generally speaking they are more obvious than this in their whine threads, this one actually has some thought behind it.

edit: Personally I probably wouldn't, but then again if I would do the same with pretty much any game that I had been playing for a while and was banned from, and my only choice was starting over from scratch.

I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

Since I don't do things that could warrant a ban... not much use thinking about what I would do if I got a ban ^^

If you rather want to ask the question if I'd get WoW again if I could turn back time and being asked to choose if I'd want it again, knowing the things that I know now... yep, I would. Definitely. I mean... it's a good game, I like it, it's fun. Even with the occasional downside... overall I'm having a blast. And it's certainly a more social undertaking that many of the hobbies that I've already pursued in my life.

Instantly quit, so many unobtainable titles/mounts/achievements I have on my few characters that I either got very lucky with or spent so much time doing, it just wouldn't be worth doing again, even though I enjoy the game.

It absolutely is. I managed to somehow trigger a permaban on my own account a few weeks ago, as a first offense after years of being a solid warning-free customer. I didn't really get a good explanation from the customer service department, but I figure somehow my farming of Twilight Highlands was somehow efficient enough that it got automatically flagged as me botting.

I appealed, and within a couple hours (and the appeal was sent at 11pm EST, not exactly business hours) I had my account back. Still have no idea what happened, but I definitely still have the email telling me that my account had been permanently closed.

If the appeal HADN'T worked, I probably wouldn't pay for it again, but that has very little to do with the quality of the game, and much more to do with the bad taste that would be left in my mouth for losing characters I had invested a significant amount of time with, over something that was in no way my fault. I don't do anything that would get me banned in the first place, so any permaban would have to be for reasons that weren't true, and THAT is what would get me to turn my back.

When I DID get a permaban, though, my first reaction is "that can't be right", and appeal. Because I knew I hadn't actually done anything wrong. We're talking about a theoretical world where Blizzard is permabanning good customers for reasons they can't back up, and that's not reality.

Because this is such a valuable thread to begin with.

You dont like wow? Dont play it.

Other people are also perfectly capable of asking & answering this question, they dont need you for it.

    and your point is?

Whether or not the OP has a past that you don't agree with is irrelevant, whether this post had an ulterior motive doesn't matter; it has inspired a real discussion, and your only contribution is ... wait, off topic responses calling the OP out and not discussing the thread's questions at all.

Either question posed is a valid one:
    1) If you got banned would you pay the initiation cost (vanilla, bc, lk, cata, sub) to start from scratch and continue playing?
No, I wouldn't. I already have subs to RIFT and Star Wars. I'd just focus more on them and non-mmo titles. Plus, I don't do anything serious to get banned, even a suspension would have me second guessing if they deserve any future monetary support from me in any form, across any of their products.

    2) Do you feel the game in it's current state, if you weren't playing and wanted to start, worth the initiation cost?
No, I wouldn't get involved with this game again with the knowledge I have now. The community is becoming more and more self-righteous asshats, and I started when the majority were still helpful and a guild was more than a group of people raiding the same 7-8 bosses every week, but a sense of in-game family who'd help with whatever and logged in for more than raid times. I'd love to go back to those days, but don't know if it could ever happen.

I probably would stop playing WoW. The amount of time and money spent is ridiculous. I wouldn't even care about my 7 other 85's, I just want my main to be intact
