I don't know whether it's possible and even a good idea to upgrade a pre-build system's processor. Even if it's possible, your E5400 Uses the LGA775 Socket which is already a couple of years old and isn't used anymore. So even if upgrading was possible, you wouldn't find a new processor that fits that particular socket. (Well, at least I haven't seen a vendor selling Core 2 Quad CPU's for a while now)
    CPU: I7 2600k @ 3.5GHz - GPU: GTX 560 Ti Hawk - MOBO: MSI Z68-GD65 G3 - RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR3 - HDD: WD Blue 1TB/WD Green 2TB - CASE: Aerocool Xwarrior - Monitor: Samsung SA300 23" + Medion 23" (2x 1080p) - PSU: Corsair TX 850 - OS: Win7 Ultimate 64

It is possible to upgrade the CPU on most pre-built units. You just have to do a little research to see exactly which CPUs are supported. Unfortunately it's not worthwhile in the OP's case. Save your 150GBP and work towards buying a new unit.

Sorry, but it's not gonna happen. In 9 cases out of 10 (pun intended) slim case means motherboard and PSU are probably not upgradeable. Your upgrade options are only another old crappy dualcore from 2007 like your current processor is, so it's not really recommended even if you get theoretical 20% more speed on top of your current system.

Rebuild is pretty much mandatory to get decent speed-up. You can probably reuse HDD from the current computer, but just about everything else needs to go.

There's quad cores for LGA775 as well, the cooler just isn't gonna pull it.

I'm afraid it probably wouldn't work.

The case you have with the components inside, would hinder any cooling on a new CPU, any CPU worth spending money on will need some form of cooling, I doubt you will get a cooler, good enough to cool the processor inside that case.

Don't go with Alienware, overpriced rubbish. Can build the same machine yourself for 2/3 the price. Don't worry, if you don't know how to build one yourself, you can either learn (it's really wasy, the motherboard manual tells you everything you need to know), get somebody to build you one, or buy a ready built system (used), there are loads of legit ones. Just make sure it's on a respectable forum with a respectable member, i'd link the forum I use but don't know if such a thing is allowed.
