Smart Plan?

So I posted an thread earlier showing that my current crossfire setup is being bogged down by my cpu, http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...3#post15442643, but it also showed that I have a little room to expand when in a single gpu set up.

So here is the plan. Grab a 6950 and hope I can unlock it to 6970. Wait till may or so and grab a new ivy bridge and mobo. Then later in the year add a second 6950. Solid plan or waste of money?

Edit:I'm hoping to sell my 5770s for about 50 each.

Might want to wait and see what the new nvidia cards look like if you are switching to intel.
