    GPU Clock Not Updating

So this is strange... I'm not sure where to start. =/
Temperatures seemed a bit low for that overclock, and my suspicions were affirmed when I saw my 3Dmark results.

Edit: Alright, so it seems that it resets my clock and voltage every time my display driver crashes... That's really annoying.

I was about to post saying I am not sure, but then I refreshed to check if any posts were added and hey, you added this.

Yeah, it's damned annoying. And dude, holy HELL if you seriously can get 1.1GHz at only 1.075v.... That is fucking impressive, seriously.

I got higher and crashed out in the middle of 3DMark, but was stable through a Kombustor test... /confused

Kombustor /Furmark aren't great for stress testing oc'd gpu's. The drivers (AMD and Nvidia) have specific profiles for them and will throttle automatically when thermals are getting high even though it's slightly below the actual TDP, I believe it's actually based on the current draw of the card so overvolting will kick it in even sooner. I have been running into this phenomenon quite often. Overclocks are stable in Furmark but BF3 or 3DMark will crash it. That's my understanding of the situation. I could be wrong of course.

Actually, Kombustor and Furmark are great for stress testing, OC'd or not. It's designed for heat testing, but real stability testing comes from games. Furmark is designed for pushing your card as hard as it can, but without the random effects that might be caused by a game (where you've got variables such as networked information or random AI). Also, remember that since the GPU has different sections related to particles, textures, etc. one area might be pushed more than others in any 3D title (benchmark, game, or otherwise). Suddenly, you find yourself getting crashes in one game that makes use of the "weakest" area, while in other titles it's stable. This is why it's always recommended to try out a lot of different games.

Furmark helps with temperatures, which helps you find out if instabilities are caused by heat or not.

From what you said all I got is Furmark isn't good for stress testing. It's good for diagnosing.

IMO stress testing means you are trying to test if the OC is stable. Since drivers throttle your GPU during it. Implies it's not a good basis to draw a conclusion if it's truely stable or not.
