Second reason is there is a bug with the encounter. When Deathwing reaches ~16%/11%/6% his corrupted bar shoots up which causes the increase in AoE damage. Damaging him lower (to roughly 15%/10%/5%) causes Alex to cauterize Deathwing causing his corrupted blood to diminish, resulting in less AoE. The AoE never goes down to a previous 5% interval but it does stabilize.

Okay so knowing the above here is why you don't use dream. Currently there is a bug where if members use dream at a 5% interval Alex might not cauterize correctly and the increased AoE damage will persist way longer than it should. This is fairly devastating for guilds who two heal the encounter. It's hard enough for people three healing it, but would make healing impossible in the earlier stages of P2.

Therefore currently the correct way to do P2 is to only use dream if you're targeted for shrapnel, a tank as a CD for the terrors, or when the boss reaches 5% (because you aren't going to live for prolonged periods of sub 5% anyways).

Dream just causes some really buggy behavior with the encounter. We were doing the normal mode encounter on our alts and because of people falling through the world going to the blue platform we had a less than 'ideal' p2. Upon reaching 5% with only 6 people alive and a couple people dying off.. people popped dream and the boss just despawned.

This is EXACTLY why we don't use it. As far as not dying when jumping between platforms there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. My best recommendation is to not use speed boosts, try to exit in the middle of the platform, and don't try dpsing during the beginning or during the jump. These of course are not proven and just conspiracy theories so take them with a grain of salt.
