How can priest cast fear after death?

I'm playing 2v2 with rogue on my hunter and we met spriest/mage. We killed spriest and after 10-20 seconds we both got Psychic Scream! We were like "wtf how can mage cast fear?" I thought it was bug/lag or something and I didn't bother to check out.
But after few games we faced them again, killed the priest and exactly after 11 seconds I got fear again! I even checked combat logs thus confirmed that I got fear 11 secs after spriest died.

    Look at logs:

    imageshack .us/photo/my-images/844/log1r.jpg/
At 21:52:18 my friend killed spriest

    imageshack .us/photo/my-images/819/log2x.jpg/
At 21:52:29 I got fear, 11 secs after death of priest.

    How is this possible?

Even talented, the cooldown on Psychic Scream is far more than 11 seconds. Must be a bug.

We can't even dispel debuffs so it's not Sin and Punishment.

Ticket it, and show the logs. Chances are, it's a bug/quirk.

Would CoS count as a dispel? Just fishing for an explanation...

Maybe they did dispel it thinking it wouldn't do anything since the spriest was now dead? That's the only thing I can think of because the priest could have cast VT before they died and it could have been dispelled those 11 seconds later (since it does last 15 seconds).

[edit] just read the post above me about no dispels. Ignore this part.

No it doesn't and spell seen in logs is Psychic Scream.

The combat log says again at 21:53:04 that you killed him, it appears twice. Obviously there is some major lag/bugs going on.

Ya, I was assuming Archimonde was the priest name. Forgot the server-charactername setup in WoW.

Look closely at the pic and notice something is wrong? Aren't the same logs.

Well, there is the "release" bug that used to exist back when I was doing arena. Was some time ago so might be fixed by now.

Basically, when you release after dying there is a very small amount of time (most times unnoticable) where the game will recognize you as alive before giving you the ghost debuff and making you unable to cast things and for people to see you. But with enough lag and spamming the spell whilst clicking the release button you could get a spell off between being a corpse and a ghost. Saw lots of Pallys doing it with HoJ.

Yep, this was the first thing that came to my mind as well. But its more like he releases and as he leaves arena he gets ressurected and might occasionally get a spell off. Its not a guarantee.

edit: though i just thought that if there is a command to leave arena (and there certainly is, amybe even /afk does it), you could macro it and then it would work almost 100% time. This used to be done a lot with deathcoil in TBC and WotLK, but the bug seemed to be forgotten.

That explains some mystery stuns that occurred last night. Thanks for the insight
