    Issues with wireless connection.

I have a laptop in my room that I use with a wireless connection. I almost never have problems with this connection, but I noticed something that has become increasingly annoying. Normally I'll stay online and use Skype whenever I'm not doing anything in particular to talk to friends/my boyfriend. However, whenever I try to play any console game, the wireless connection starts acting up. This has happened with every single console I have (Xbox, Wii, and PS3) and it happens every time without fail. As soon as I turn the console off, the problem goes away, so I know that it HAS to be the console doing it somehow. The consoles are not connected to the internet, so I don't understand how they could be interfering with it in any way. The wired connection in the other room works fine throughout all of this.

Any help would be appreciated. I've tried searching for some kind of answer for a while now and I haven't found anything that helps at all. I haven't heard of anybody having this problem before.

Odd, could be your consoles built-in wifi that's interfering with your wireless connection, you could try to set a different channel in your router.

I used to have an issue where I got disconnected upstairs when they turned on the light in the closet downstairs.

The modem was on that same power block. I RMA'd the modem and turned out the adapter was broken.
So everytime they turned on the closet light downstairs it would sent some sort of signal to the power block and the modem's adapter causing it to do something which caused the ethernet ports to reboot. At least something like it.

Maybe your " closet light " is your console?

It sounds a bit far fetched I know, but hey, you never know... :P
