So I am looking for a good monitor with a maximum resolution of 1600x900. Mainly for playing WoW and SWTOR. My friend has that Samsung PX2370. The picture quality on that thing is awesome! Even when lowering the resolution to 1600x900. I want something close to that in terms of picture quality for under $200. Don't really know what are good brands. Help!
Dynamic Contrast Ratio is a marketing gimmick bordering on an plausibly denied lie. It doesn't function as advertised. In general you can toss out anything related to DCR and for that matter even the grey to grey and to a lesser extent the black to black and black to white measurements are all absurdly subjective.
The only way to garner any information about monitors is to search for actual reviews of the products at sites like TFT Central (one of many) and see what they say about actual evidence of ghosting, input lag (not an issue by and large anymore), picture quality, backlight bleeding etc.
