Lightbulb Mage: Chloro Dom in PVP

So I'd like to try this spec http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0z...Mbk.EdI00A0zRo when I hit 50.

I like the idea of being able to damage n heal. Has anyone tried something similar? What kind of rotation would you advice? Maybe any macros that could help me?

Oh, cool... thanks. Any 2c from anyone?

Honestly Chloro Dom is more of a 1v1 kind of build. The healing output from it is insignificant until very high ranks, and even then most of the time 1v1 is not a luxury you have. Choros at the moment are a bit gimped because not only does valor reduce our damage output, it reduces our healing output (because less damage = less healing).

I would recommend going Pyro Dom, it's a bit glass cannon but at higher ranks it will kill just about anyone as long as you stay at range.

Chloro is getting some love soon, maybe in 1.8 I hear. So til then just pewpew, and fingers crossed Chloro becomes a viable healer again in PvP soon.

Could also try chloro/lock if you're looking for damage/healing, gets some really nice survivability buffs later on in the lock tree too. Nature's fury hits like a truck!

    I guess I should've mentioned that I'm lvl 35.

    So I've tried this:
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0z...ikaMbk.xdkz.-0
I can barely heal and I can barely damage... I guess it's too early...

So what kind of spec is good for PvP levelling? Any links to guides/macros/etc maybe?

Go pyro/dom as you level for sure. It's the most viable spec at any level.

Yeah this was my pvp spec back in 1.5 i think. Bluedots is a nice website for guides.

As the above poster says, Bluedots.org is your best resource for mage related information, it has everything you'll need to know and plenty of people to answer your mage related questions (even if his new website is a tad untidy, imo).

The trouble with Chloro in PvP is the double dipping of valor reduction (once for dmg, once for healing), and rogues with their AoEing to spread heal debuffs and siphon healing turning them into unkillable machines. Chloro is dead in PvP until the Devs address our survivability. Chlorodom us useful for open world PvP and 1v1 duels, but warfronts you'll get smooshed.

So trust me, stick with PyroDom. It's what I use, it's what my mage buddies use.
