    Should I switch from WoW?

I've been playing WoW for a long time and now I barely log on more than twice a week since my guilds raiding is kind of at a standstill and I don't really have the desire to play any alts. When I log on, I do either LFR or a dungeon on my Mage before logging off. It's really become a bore now and I'm afraid it will remain this way until Mists of Pandaria, which I am planning on getting and playing exclusively.

But my question is, should I give up on WoW, at least for the time being, and play SWToR? Is it really more fun than WoW? I know I'll probably enjoy the levelling process, but once I get to end game, is it the same as WoW is now? Because I don't want to spend the money to buy the game and level up to the cap to find myself as bored as I am currently with WoW.

There's also the fact that I'll probably only be playing till MoP any ways unless it's so amazing that I end up not wanting Mists, which is probably not going to happen.

    So, thoughts?

Well, my experience with the game I literally just logged out after 5 warzones timed out due to lack of players and that's on the swiftsure one of the more populated servers you can play on. You'll spend a lot of time sitting around on fleet just like you did in WoW, if you wish to spend the money for the single player RPG aspect of the game (leveling) feel free, its decent but if you actually want something challenging and new at end game, this is not the game for you.

Give it a couple more months perhaps and ask yourself if you wish to play it than, as it stands right now end game is not any different from WoW outside of the poorly designed raid encounters.

It's a really fun game with lots of fun and entertaining things. The leveling is fun and entertaining, the flashpoints are fun, operations are fun too if not a tad bit easy. The game really I see as more laid back and overall fun than WoW. but you really have to try it to know as this is an opinion based sort of thing.

I would say give it a chance, if you can find anyone who already owns the game that you know see if you can convince them to let you play for a little bit. I personally find it to be a lot of fun, but I've always been a big fan of story. I would play Final Fantasy over a GTA any day, but that's how I am. Most of the people in this forum are probably going to lobby for SWTOR just because...it's THIS forum.

I can say that I've barely touched end game and I still consider it good value for the 60 bucks from the original month (I got time cards for Christmas )

I would have to disagree, I'm on Ajunta Pall, and there is hardly ever a time when there is few players minus the really really off times when everyones asleep (5-9:30 am). And I would also have to disagree with your comments on the raids, I find them to be much more fun and interesting and immersive than the WoW raid fights.

Playing SW:Tor just felt like making a new level 1 character in WoW and trying to level it to end-level again, because the games feel so similar.

I guess I'm just not someone that is heavily swayed by single player questing, storylines or voice-overs, but put most of my attention to the actual gameplay and mechanics.

And I would have to agree completely. I've never had a warzone close due to lack of players and I'm LOVING the raid content. The fights are much, much more dynamic than anything I've done in wow. It seems they favor fun over challenge as the content isn't as hard as something you'd find in WoW but it's really just a whole different game altogether and honestly extremely difficult to compare. I've played wow for many, many years but recently moved to this game because I received it as a gift. I was NOT disappointed!

wait for patch 1.2 before playing SWTOR. That's my suggestion

I can agree and disagree with this, On one side it will add another warzone (they say) and some actual use out of the legacy system. However, the game right now is not bad, I find it rather fun and entertaining and I feel like gathering legacy levels before 1.2 will only help.

I'd suggest waiting a while before switching. It feels like it's unfinished. Maybe try it when 1.2 goes live, which is sometime next month where they're adding lots of features.

That's fine and dandy, im on The Swiftsure at a peak hour and 5 wz's just timed out due to lack of players, which is why I logged out in disgust. I will disagree with you about the raids, DS is not a shining example of amazing raids but WoW is far better when it comes to actual end game content. Swtors first stab at it is pretty poor but they have room to improve.

The only way to know is to try. I play both personally. Sure, all I'm ever on for is raids for WoW anymore, but hell, that's the only thing that has upgrades for me and I'm ok on gold. What else would i do on off-nights? Level an alt? Well, that's what I'm doing. It's just an alt in another game

I have not logged into WoW, except to help the GF with an alt run, since I started playing SW:TOR at release. Endgame is pvp/raiding, HardModes and Dailies, just like WoW. It feels much more like BC than anything, and honestly I'm enjoying it. There are two raids with normal, hard, and nightmare modes, and there is another patch with another raid being released next month. If they continue to add a new 6+ boss raid every 2 months I will be happy-ish. They are also talking about adding a new planet and some other stuff.

Try it and see if you liked it. And Vegemeat, Warzones don't start unless they have the players. Just because people quit the queue or left the WZ after they saw who was in there does not mean there is an actual lack of players.

Once the novelty of the Star Wars theme wears off, SWTOR isn't much different from WoW. Really boils down to another grindfest. I quit WoW out of boredom to play this game, and I found myself unsubbing shortly after hitting 50. Same shit, different skin. If you're bored with WoW, you'll likely be bored with SWTOR.

I played WoW non stop since BC but SWTOR completely hooked me in. I unsubed from WoW two months ago and haven't played since. I prefer SWTOR now but I'm a bit biased because I thought Cataclysm was a bad expansion and Dragon Soul was a complete abomination. Just my opinion of course.

I would tend to believe that were the case if it had not happened 5 times in a row with different sets of people, sorry, but people leaving is not a better reason for having warzones time out.

Except warzones dont start unless you have enough people, that is why you have queue times.

Play if you want to play.

Don't play if you don't want to play.

    It's that simple.
