Higher chance to get a beta invite if you....?

apply with a lot of emails? I've only used my main hotmail to apply, got the confirmation 10 min after i applied yesterday. But I keep reading about people who have made several hotmails etc and applied with those. Will it increase your chance of getting an invite, or how does their system work?

I find that incredibly dishonest and I wouldn't do it. But that's just me.

Personally I'd be afraid of being disqualified.

Yes indeed. At first I thought it was IP based, but that wouldn't work if you are more than 1 person in your family that wants to play it. I'm gonna stick with 1 mail just in case

It's a jerk move, and really, I'm sure they can filter out multiple entries that come from the same IP with the exact same DxDiag results. Might even STOP you from getting in.

I hope they have some kind of IP tracking system and ban people who do that, and I fully agree/feel like Snow White.

I'm pretty sure no matter how many emails you do, unless you go around town to get different IP addresses or attempt to change it via a proxy then when they see you used the same IP address for each try you'll either get DQed or it'll all be counted as one submission.

    Just my two cents though.

I actually signed with two e-mails because when I signed with my main one, the mail didn't arrive instantly and I got too excited to wait, so I tried another. But I'm not sure how I'd be able to tell them about it before it's too late to change it.

Worst thing that could happen is if it disqualifies me from being able to participate.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Twitter post earlier, saying that using more than one wouldn't penalise you.

Well, I dont want to try anyway, since they probably keep ip and stuff.
Also, you still have same computer system, if it's not what they are interested in then you won't be selected even though same computer tries several times.

I think best shot is having an up to date computer, like most people have.
Not superflashy computer like a few, and not old cows like mine. Having an avarage good computer at this time is probably your best chance of getting in.

Should just be a patient little panda, and hope you get lucky or wait for the actual game.

I signed with 20, I always do that in BETA. Rather almost be sure to get in than play the lotteri. Been disappointed too many times, so a few "game titles" back I decided to create 20 mail addresses for the sole purpose of BETA sign-up and competitions.

Using proxy for each one of them, to make sure they see it as random IP's

Dishonest? No? There is no rule about this, silly not to do it. When I get multiple invites I spread them to friends who show interest, but had no luck.

It's all about the system info, not email...if u send ur system specs with 123132131 emails it still counts as 1, if u have 40 PCs...well this is a different story

So what if you just got 2-3 account acceptions on your emails? What a jerk move.

They more than likely use your MAC address as a unique identifier of your PC

Guess some people are willing to pay for the other 1-2

You won't be penalized for using multiple emails, though your chances won't increase.

However you can use multiple emails and computers though that's a dick move.

They have a program run a systems check, its possible they log some info on your PC that is specific. Duno, can they get the MAC adress? If they did they would see 20x the exact same PC having entered.

Altough i think we might just overthink it and they dont go that far.

They could get your MAC address with ease. We already know that you are required to run a program that accesses all your config. Getting the MAC address is insanely simple (doesn't even require admin rights). We also know that they sent more data than they actually showed in the text box (we know it submitted additional HDs, GPUs, probably displays). I imagine they'll check your config and boot out duplicates. I don't think they'll penalize it, but I do think they'll use MAC addresses to boot you off as a duplicate.

I doubt they're filtering IP addresses, it would disqualify multiple people living under the same roof who happen to share internet, unless the same exact PC specs were to come up for each email under that IP.

I imagine the best way to spoof the system would be multiple computers with a proxy.
