    Then Steal goes on cooldown.

This is now clunky and unwieldy, in my book, unless they change the fourth part. :S
Or they remove all of the traits that make Steal do other things like buff Might/Fury/Swiftness all at the same time. Or stealth. Or Daze.
I've heard steal can be pretty powerful though in certain situations. Damage wise and control wise. I think the 2nd and 3rd part could be combined though. It needs to be used optimally, so you need to carry whatever you've stolen and use it at the proper time. And if it is so powerful it definitely needs a cd.

that does indeed sound like a nice idea!
it would be a pretty big thief buff though, so i guess they'd have to increase the cooldown quite a bit, or nerf thieves overall somewhere else.

i can see why they are doing it like this, but i think step 3 is actually completely useless now. stealing should just switch the f1 button into the one that would otherwise be on your 1-slot after you press f1 a second time.

f1 to steal, f1 again to use. you could just double press it for instant use, or wait to read the tooltip of the 'item' or use it in another situation.

    Yh....I said "use optimally"
I like GW2's combat probably mostly because it makes everything an opportunity cost.

I really want to double-check this now.

I get why they might have it work that way, because then Malice and Power can be redundant... but not if Malice affects condition damage far more than Power does.

Also: There's TEN attributes, not nine. The tenth one is profession-specific. I don't know if you can find it on gear, and I don't know how it works when it is on gear. (Like, does Willpower show on gear so that everybody sees it as Willpower, or does it change based on who sees/equip it? Or is it only on gear restricted to your profession?)
old blog is old!! HISS!! OLD!! Look at the new one, they specifically say that they split the condition damage out of power because it was to powerful before hand, so now we have power (just flat damage) and malice (condition damage).

I hope there are no animations/cast times on the steal mechanic. With all those steps that would be annoying

Why not have F2-F4 be stolen items that are stored? Or at least F2, with only the most recent steal being placed there?

I'm just annoyed that they put in so much utility to the Steal mechanic, and then also have the cooldown delayed based on using one specific part of that utility. That's my issue. Why trait Steal to also buff Might/Fury/Swiftness now?

IMO, it makes the profession-specific attribute almost required for Steal to be useful, but I get the feeling it'll be hard to get a decent amount of CD reduction.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

Admittedly my main interests would be Elementalist or Guardian, but I'm definitely going to be giving Thief a fair shot during the beta weekend.

you can't it looks like prof stats are ONLY in the trait line, however if you want to look at set bonuses go to here...

    assumption: correct
basis: too many stats, would make armor useless for other profs
