I could do that too, but it has to involve a pistol. The swords don't really look like pirate rapiers. Daggers are more rogueish anyways.

There are some swords that look rapier-like, but it's also worth noting that pirates don't necessarily wield rapiers. There's also cutlasses and broadswords and more. Pirates will kill you with a broom if they have to.
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

a rapier would have been a horrible weapon on a ship. they also require alot of skill to use. hell most people when i hand them a rapier dont know how to hold it correctly

a cutlass is by far a cheaper, better, and easier weapon to use

Rapiers always screamed more of Duelist / Swashbuckler archetype than a Pirate to me personally. I know they are pretty similiar but most Pirates i see in videogames, books, movies etc. use Cutlasses or Shortswords. Just my opinion not stating facts ofc .

Um... a rapier was an AMAZING weapon on a ship... the point of a rapier is to completely shit on other swordsman, you know what you encountered a lot of as a pirate? GASP!! Other swordsman!?! you're right!!

Now, can any random scurvyinfested sea mutt be able to pick up a rapier and be a killing machine like they could a cutlass? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Because of that they weren't common AT ALL among pirates, but they were very common among officers and the such who needed a good defense against pirates.

(I had meant to say cutlass originally)
I have heard, and I don't know if it's true, but rapiers ended up being a problem because a cutlass is heavy enough to actually break the rapier.

If an idiot uses a rapier poorly it can be broken by like any sword, the beauty of the rapier was the elegance and being able to get in real close (and in some cases even able to block with the pommel), the rapier was more of a evade, and guide the enemies sword away sort of thing and follow up with stabbing them 37 times in the chest then it was flat out parrying like other swords. (IE you move enemies sword away from your body with elegance instead of smashing it away by colliding your sword with theirs.)

Lol? Please enlighten me on any character who used a rapier in that movie. And no, my pirate history is based on my friend who absolutely worships that time era and studies it constantly.

option: sicne you have the swiftness on evade trait why not try withdraw since that's an "evade"

    just an idea

Err, rapiers never made it into actual warfare. They're a dueling weapon. You go into battle with a rapier against someone with an actual war sword you're going to die. Your friends knowledge on swords is way off. I think they were briefly used in the war of the roses, but they eventually said "fuck it, this is shit" and went with traditional swords. There were certain "cut and thrust swords" that were similar to the rapier and used in war, but they weren't true rapiers.

Because you lose the significant self healing of signet of malice (980 per unload) and I already have a trait that removes cripple/chill on normal rolls.

The "swiftness on evade" trait is incorrect. It really should say "Swiftness on dodge."

I did not get Swiftness when using Withdraw, even when I evaded an attack. Only when I used my dodge roll.

Where did I say in war? In war you'd get your shit rocked, I said some captains kept them on a ship for their weapon incase they were boarded by pirates, NOT that they were war weapons

Battle is battle. If you go into a serious battle with a rapier, regardless of if it's war or not, you might as well impale yourself.

Cutlasses and rapiers are nice, but I want to see a pirate use one of these:
