Sorry to interrupt uhm...whatever was goin on there. But, is it true they took up leveling out of the game? I thought I read that, but I couldn't find the link anywhere.

No the havent, they were going to from the start tho but people got confused by the whole thing, have a mmo without lvls, so they put them in there as an illusion that they are needed

they are needed, actually.
you get downlevel'd, but not uplevel'd. the levels are mostly as a means to 1) introduce players to the game and giving them time to learn their skills before they unlock them all (at like lvl 30, i think) and 2) as a means to have people 'progress' through the world, sort of a gating mechanic.

you can't go into a lvl 35 dungeon with level 10. so levels still matter and are not just an illusions, they just matter less in various ways than in most other rpgs.

I haven't played GW since open beta so no idea what it's truly like, but I have already per-purchased and and my wife and I will give it the ole college try. On that note joining a huge social guild like this from a forum I lurk on daily sounds perfect! Please save two slots for my wife and I (no idea about names-professions yet tbh). Just know that I'm all for it if you don't mind a couple more "noobs"
