Fair point I suppose.

I wonder if it's possible to design guilds without a leadership position. And I mean in-game, not figuratively speaking.

Think about it... even in WoW, you have to have a minimum of 5 signatures to even start a guild, so why is there a guild-leader position? O_o

Its 10 signiatures iirc, and the reason is because it is an out of date system from the EQ2 era of MMO's. Blizzard never found it necessary to change it because it was commonplace to have one solidified leader as guildmaster who oversaw the day to day operations of the guild and no one questioned it. tey may have thought of making some sort of oligarchy system but probably decided against messing with the coding, and also because it could potentially create problems with coups overthrowing one or more of the leaders in the guild, creating unending shitfests of complaints.

All in theory, but its more than likely coding and laziness to inovate a tried and true system, however easily abused it always is.

I suppose in GW though, you can form a guild without "signatures" so my idea goes out the door.

This brings an interesting question and one I doubt we could answer right now:

If you're only bound to your server for WvW reasons, and you can join a guild on other servers, can you MAKE a guild on a different server from your 'home' server?

How will the guild infrastructure work? Are we just electing Mif/Allanon and leaving it at that?

I will be an officer, the forums mods will be officers, and mif has done quite a bit of work on the forums in terms of information gathering I wouldn't mind him being an officer either. After that, I can talk to the mods and others who might like to see who might want to be officers or who they like etc.
