    Looking for upgrades, need help!

Hey guys, long story short, I got an Hp a couple months ago and it runs all my games, but only on low settings, and, for example, wow can only max out at 30 fps with all low settings and no other programs open on my computer. My games can't run that fast because I have a terrible video card. I'll give you guys my stats and such and if you guys could recommend me some of the best graphics cards for like under 150 bucks, I'd appreciate it. Or any other upgrades they wouldn't cost an arm and a leg, I can then write them down on a piece of paper, tape said paper to a jar, and start saving my change haha. Thanks!

    Current Graphics Card:
    ATI RADEON HD 4200
    Total Memory - 1916 mb
Chip type: ATI display adapter (0x9710)
Monitor (if this means anything): Hp 2011 Series Wide LCD Monitor 22"
    System: Hewlett-Packard - system model P6823w
Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 521 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
    DirectX 11
    Memory:4096MB RAM
    64 bit

    Thanks!

A GTX 560 would work well if you can spend that much. Should last you longer than something that is ~$20-30 cheaper to make it worth it. You should figure out what PSU you have before you buy anything though, as it needs to be powerful enough and have the right cables.

You might have to open the case and take a look at the label if you can't find the specs on HP's site.

Please help determine if that graphics card would work with that computer. If so, and If it is a good upgrade over my current one, I will start saving up!

If I were you, I'd save up to $200, then pick up a new power supply, like
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139027

    and also get HD6850:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161363

    Total after rebates: $189.98

Your power supply isn't good enough for any dedicated card that is worth upgrade from current IGP.

Yeah, that PSU isn't going to cut it. I would do as the above poster recommended, except pay the extra $20 for a 6870.
