Setting up a gaming rig in NZ

Hey there,

Been gaming on a mac for the last 8 months and after sizzling out the battery (yay for warranties), i'm looking at setting up a decent gaming rig.

Hoping to aim at the 1500-1800 NZD mark, and I have no idea where to start. I have been looking on trade-me (the NZ version of Ebay) for ideas, and browsing catalogues for shiny things, but I really have no idea what i'm doing. Any pointers? I saw the post on the front page by Chaud the other day with the gaming rigs -- should I be looking at finding these parts in NZ?

Any pointers/tips/suggestions would be kick arse.

Good place to check out in NZ is http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/, based in Auckland but ship nation-wide.
They have a pretty good forum on there to ask for their advice first hand on builds and parts, and can ever price it up for you.
