He probably based that on the fact that in Spanish /h/ is "silent".

Can you explain to me how a guttural sound is more "delicate" than the lack of it?

    There's two facts to consider:
    1. English is one of the fastest changing languages in the world.
    2. Those of you who are not even native English speakers and are European, while in some cultures a supreme dictatorial book/academy is accepted by the community (e.g. Real Academia Espanola, Academie Francaise) English speaking cultures have opted to not follow this practice as strongly.

Erb, i'm welsh and we tend to have a habit of just randomly deciding letters dont belong in there original places. Although i'm the scummiest of valley welsh and people from other countries tend to have a crazy hard time understanding me.

  11. #91
Difference is based on where you're from.

British tend to lean towards "hurb", while Americans usually say "erb".

The spanish in me forces me to ignore any and all H's. So it's 'erb.

Good thought but both are correct. Depending on where you are at.

American here, so "erb". American English borrows some pronunciations of words from French while keeping the English spelling.

Actually you speak American-English. America doesn't have their own language as much as they want one. You only have a dialect. (I live in America.)
