If they are happy and in love its ok
If they are happy and in love its ok
ohhh man you just put the point right
She is 18 and therefore she can the fuck she wants, and he is a grown up man and if has fallen in love with an 18 year old girl, then well done! every man would say yes to some teenage love no matter what age you are. So the law is saying yes, the moral that everybody would do the same, says yes and since the mother is doing something illigal by going on a personal crusade, i say go old man and girl!
Someone probably already said it but...
Dat last name...
I don't personally think there's anything wrong with a legal consentual student-teacher relationship. What's wrong with this situation though is the fact that he left his wife and children for this girl.

I will agree and disagree with you here.
You are right about the difference between boys and girls when it comes to sex with teachers. A male teacher having sex with his female student causes all sorts of trauma and emotional distress. But when a female teacher has sex with her male student, then he becomes the hero on the block. The part where it becomes a point of distress is years down the road, when he tries to have an actual relationship with somebody. The fact that he had full adult hotness up for grabs at such a young age contradicts the reality many years later when he is trying to be close and intimate with someone who he must work with to keep that relationship going.
So you are right, it's not the same, but make no mistake, they are both traumatizing.
The poll doesn't have enough middle ground options, it's case to case whether or not it's okay.
I don't think you're doing your argument any favors by using the words "all" and generalizing all men and all women. Just like men and women are different, men are different, and women are different too.
Just because the stereotype applies to you doesn't mean it automatically applies to everyone else as well.
A little off topic, but the funny part is when people don't say "no".
Like former Congressman Anthony Weiner. When someone asks if you tweeted your penis, and your answer is anything other than "no", then you tweeted your penis. His answer of "I can't say with certitude. The picture could be doctored" left many Democrats groaning.
Or Penn State's Jerry Sandusky. If someone asks "Are you attracted to young boys?", the answer is "no". Not for Jerry though. His answer? "Young boys are attracted to me."
while his post is pretty sexist (lets face it, this entire thread is pretty sexist) it's not exactly inaccurate to say that every male has at one point fantasized about a younger woman (unless you're not into women at all). it's not saying that men JUST go for younger women and only younger women, and that men don't fantasize about older women. essentially its not wrong but it's extremely vague and heavily misinterpreted.
Eh, I've never really understood peoples outrage over this kind of thing. Human relationships are human relationships. I don't know the details about what they are up to, but if they actually love each other, damn the consequences I say. If he can handle living with the fact he abandoned his wife and kids more power to him. Sure, it's kind of terrible, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
People also always take legal age/age difference to seriously. Is it wrong for someone 18 to date someone who is 16? Anything between them would technically be illegal, but it's only a 2 year difference. Likewise if their feelings are genuine and not just some sexual/money thing I don't see why age has to be an issue. I feel people age to the ability to make their own decision much quicker then the law states as well. Of course there is a limit, you can't just say "Me and this 11 year old are in love!" but humans reach a level of maturity both mentally and sexually at around maybe 15 or so where neither they nor the other party should be penalized for their choices (this is consensual, of course. Assault in this case should still be treated as a greater then average crime.)
I still find it more uncommon that anything between greater age lines would be genuine. There are certain personality traits that seem to be shared across generations.
It's very creepy but people have to remember, guys have two brains.
One in their penis, and one in their skull. Usually the penis brain wins decisions.

There's nothing unusual nor illegal that they are doing, loads of girls back when I was that age were with much older guys, some girl when I was in college was around 18-19 seeing some 40ish year old guy, maybe a little weird from my point of view (she was a really attractive girl too) but very common.
He's no longer a teacher so he's done nothing wrong. If I can pull 18 year old girls when I'm 40, I'l be a happy guy. Porn stars do them for a living.
Its creepy, but not illegal. It was definitely immoral for him to leave his wife and kids. Guy is definitely a sicko.
I think its wrong for someone that old to go after a girl so young. And, how in the hell is she attracted to him?
What, no one made a joke about the ABC news video saying that, "... and Hooker was her business class teacher." Guess my humour is a little sketchy at best.
Provided that nothing illegal happened(ie: sexual contact when she was <18) then I don't really care. 18-year-olds are legal adults, if they wanna sleep with their teacher, that's their right.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
Just, be kind.
There are certain things you don't do, and what this "Man" did is one of them. And by the way, what's going on here is nothing close to love. I'd speculate (NOT stating facts) that this relationship was more about fulfilling their fantasies than actual love. This guy should have had the balls to first of all, not entertain those thoughts when he noticed "Oh man, I'm attracted to this girl", let alone leave his children and wife for this. Regardless of the legality or the issue, and regardless if they "love" each other or not, he never should have allowed those feelings to come to this point. Now his family has to pay the price, and there is absolutely no excuse for that. He abandoned his responsibility to his wife and his family for his own sake. I'd hardly call him a man at all.
If you re-read my post, I didn't say "ALL MAN GO AND TAKE A YOUNGER WOMAN!".
There is a simple issue of reading comprehension, the point I tried to put across, is not that all men will go and take more than one woman. The point is all men, at one point or another, desire another woman. Some take the risk and go for it, some don't. If you call that a generalization, well, I don't know how to help you there.
Your grandfather didn't. Does that mean he never looked at another woman and thought about having sex with her? I doubt it unless he was neutered (No disrespect intended towards your grandfather, just making a point)
As I said, thinking a man wont desire another woman is simply self-delusional wishful thinking. Yet it doesn't mean a man will actually take the chances. Every time you're walking down the street and your man looks at a woman's body, he goes through the simple mental image.
You can call it a generalization, but doing so is like stating "All humans have a brain" is a generalization too.
