    Tanking Heroic Spine(10) suggestions

I'm getting ready to work on heroic spine as a DK tank, and will likely be assigned to managing the bloods. What I'm thinking is I will be gearing to favor Avoidance slightly more than usual. My reasoing for it is that with holding 20+ bloods, avoidance will be a tad more valuable than usual, as the blood shield will be nullified by so many things beating though it.

What I am thinking is swapping the rune to Swordshattering, the shoulders to Heroic Brackenshell Shoulderplates,http://www.wowhead.com/item=78367and my boots to the Valor tank boots, http://www.wowhead.com/item=77171. As for trinkets I am thinking of using Fire of the Deep, http://www.wowhead.com/item=77117 or Stay of Execution,http://www.wowhead.com/item=68996, while keeping my Soulshifter Vortex, http://www.wowhead.com/item=77990.

    Any thoughts, suggestions, critiques?

What's your other tank? Seems like any of the other tanks are better equipped for bloods.

We just started on this fight, and I'm tanking the amalg on my DK in almost all dps gear, since the extra dps on the tendon doesn't hurt.

My co-tank is a Druid, and to be honest out-DPS's me something fierce. As far as I can tell it makes more sense for me to be the kiter, and leave our bear to have Amalgs, in roughly DPS gear and be able to shift to cat and continue to slaughter the tendon.

Yeah a Druid tank is far better for tanking the amalgamation, we use a bear tank for spine and he's usually in the top 3 on the tendon, I usually tank the bloods as a paladin tank and use a dodge trinket etc obviously I don't know a great deal about dk tanks but your mastery increases the size of your death strike shield? And your death strike shield isn't effected by how many hits it takes just how hard your hit etc so unless you can increase your avoidance by a really big % then I'd say stack mastery for bigger shields for when you have butt loads of bloods on you. Otherwise on the 3rd plate with a great less health than usual, if you stacked avoidance it could be even more spikey healing than usual dk healing this is assuming that dk's generally have lower health than paladins seeing as I'm stamina stacking

my suggestion is that you take amalgation. we did this with dk+druid tank, and we had the druid take the bloods. He can still help on the tendon, as we woutn have very many bloods up until 3rd plattform. Also you really dont need an extra dps on tendon, as it have been nerfed like crazy.

it is probably possible to go with 1 tank 2 healers 7 dps, and nuke the tendon down on one single opening, making it 3 phases instead of 6. Thats how nerfed tendond is, so you really dont need to adjust your tactic, to enable a tank to dps tendon.

You can have the druid of the dk be the blood tank. We originally killed it with a prot pally and a dk. The reason why we had our dk on the bloods is because his aoe threat is much greater than the paladin's and would just rip bloods off of him if he touched them.

Bears and dks are both very good at bloods. It's normal for the bear to out-dps other tanks, too. They're so broken for a lot of fights in DS10.

Had this been prior to the nerfs, I would have suggested that the bear be the amalg tank just so he can switch to kitty once the amalg explodes and exposes the tendon. That boost in damage was quite valuable before the steep health nerf. I still suggest it now if you have dps issues with the tendon.

We've had a handful (10 or so) real tries at Spine10hc today and during the best try we got to killing the 2nd burning tendon.
I am tanking bloods (prot warrior - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...rghie/advanced, CTC capped with dodge food buff) but when the second plate flew off I failed hard and bloods ate our shaman healer in 4 seconds - the issue I am having is that we had around 30 bloods alive at that point and I started somewhat lagging... first of all I know that there will be lots more during 3rd plate and I am starting to think we should get another tank if my hardware cannot handle the load of that many bloods but this is not what I wanted to ask

I wanted to ask about the suggested number of bloods alive when the plate goes off - should it be lower than that 30? Should we kill a bit more bloods?

Also - to improve the performance during next tries I will lower every graphic option to "low" (been playing on Ultra and 1600x900) but regarding addons - I would like to keep threat plates but am worried that it might be causing the issues... any other suggestions? I've already disabled recount and Eavesdrop but am hesitant to disable combat log at all since I am logging for WoL...

If memory serves the solution to mopping up bloods was to upon ripping a plate off, take down the corruptions, get all 3 amalgs, feed them your pile of bloods, then roll.

To Morghie, turning off nameplates will probably increase performance significantly, though won't hurt to turn down the graphics as well.

To Nurhlag, the DK mastery is beautiful with a single target, but it falls a little on its face with AoE tanking. Thankfully the bloods individually don't hit too hard. To counter that issue somewhat, I was planning on shifting into a bit more avoidance than usual. Depending on what Gear gets put on I'll likely still be over 30 mastery, but push 40% dodge+parry.
