Will this Motherboard fit into this case?

About 4 days ago I posted a topic about buying a new motherboard and was recommended ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3. The size is ATX but the board which came with my Alienware Aurora which I want to repair/replace is MicroATX however the case is a Mid-Tower so I was told it should fit fine.

However the case looks big enough but I'm concerned as there are 2 things which look as if they could block the board from reaching that far. I took some pictures to show you what I mean:

The black cable support is*attached*to the case as well as the metal frame around the board which I thought would*interfere*with my new ATX sized board.

I do NOT mind buying another case but before I get carried away. Do you think this will work?

If this is helpful, here is the older post I was talking about:

Thanks. I know this might sound like a simple, standard question but as this is my first major work on a computer, I get worried.

ATX boards are the same width (244mm) as Micro-ATX boards, but ATX boards are longer (305mm vs 244mm), so the cable support is fine, but that metal plate at the bottom will be a problem.

Edit: According to various sources, the Aurora case will only fit MicroATX boards. A mid-tower chassis does not denote ATX support.

While I'm asking about this, I need a case which will fit the board.*
I was *thinking about this case:

Unless someone can recommend something different. Hope this is a good choice.

Note that this is my personal opinion, but that case is second on my "want" list after one of the cooler master cosmos cases.
Afaik the one you linked is pretty great, check some reviews online, there should be plenty.

The 600T is a good choice, my case (the Fractal Design Arc Midi) is it's main rival. I've never built in the 600T, but the Arc Midi is, by far, my favorite case that I've ever worked with.

Thanks for the advice. Just to be sure. The one I linked will definitely fit my motherboard?:

I don't want to make another big mistake.*

Hopefully its just the motherboard which needs a specific case and that all my other computer components will fit in fine. Hope I don't need to consider anything else. I do have an SSD but the case I linked says it has brackets for that so I don't need to buy my own.

Yeah, the 600T will fit a ATX board.

That case is great and will hold a Z68 Extreme3 Gen3. It should have everything your previous case had and more, and yes the hard drive brackets are fitted for SSDs as well. However, is there a reason you need an ATX mobo as opposed to a Micro-ATX mobo? The Asrock Z68 Pro3-M is just as good but won't support SLI.

I wanted a board which would be compatible for the future so I thought having the option of SLI would be useful. Also I don't like the Alienware aurora case as much and liked the idea of having an easy to work with, wide open case like the 600T. The case I have now is very*cluttered*inside and very heavy. However I have not ruled out the idea of simply getting that motherboard.

Swoodrell, buying/selling stuff is against the forum rules here, you may wanna check them out...

Personally, I'd recommend getting a micro-ATX board and keep the case, assuming you're satisfied with said case. But I'd redo the cable management personally if possible, because that's not exactly impressive stuff going on there. :P

I did not do the cable management. It was pre built as its an Alienware aurora PC. However I brought the motherboard about a week ago and got the new case now so I'd rather not send them back as I prefer the new case much better than the Alienware one.

    Alrighty, that's a respectful choice.
