on a serious note, i do expect to see more of these odd deals with high end Nvidia 500 series cards as retailers try to clear out inventory and make room for the new series, the problem with something like a 570 DC2 is that only a certain market is going to buy one, and once the new 670 hits the self that remaining 570 will likely never be touched again

Actually I disagree Cyanotical, up until recently people still bought 460s fairly regularly, so if the 570 drops in price enough I'm sure people will buy it.

the 460 is not what i would put in that category, i mean the 570, 580, and 590, the people that buy that class of card generally get that card in the current generation, not the previous one, if someone is going to buy 4 580s they are going to do it while it is relevant, when the 680 comes out they will buy 4 of those instead, and ignore the 580 as "Old Crappy McSlow"

the 460 and now the 560ti will continue to sell, as those are more of a mid range card where the buyer is more concerned about price vs performance

Ignoring that DCII card, the GTX 570 is n okay buy at $300. I would strongly consider the HD 7870 instead due to 10% better performance overall and 20% better tessellation.

    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/548?vs=518

My expectation for April is the following staggered pricing:

    HD 7970 - $500
    GTX 680 - $450
    HD 7950 - $400
    GTX 670 [Ti?] - $350
    HD 7870 - $300
    HD 7850 - $200
