I have lots of good sets and none of them would have been possible without friends. I used to find items but I haven't found anything since they updated the way item dropping works =/
I was looking forward to expanding my trade pool with diretide this year, no just kidding recipe spam =(

Since the change i've got 3 items of note (from drops) :

I got some DP Ghosts (mythcal ones)
Tinkbot
And the pig courier (i forget the name)

But i get the same items and shitty recipies and crap ALOT now, which kinda blows - but truth be told i'm not fussed about drops because i just buy a set if i really want it and since i'm too lazy to trade i get loads of spares > . >

You mean updating so only certain items drop or what? I'm pretty sure they didn't change their RNG.

I get loads of boxes and recipies now rather than actual items.

I think i get around 2 - 3 items per level up (dunno how many games that is)

It's probably just a streak of bad luck. My RNG has been a lot better lately.

As far as I'm aware Chests and Recipes are still separate rolls from actual item drops - getting either won't affect your chance of getting an actual item, and a chest drop couldn't have been a real item with any amount of luck.

Well boxes are generally good luck for me

I've gotten a few chests inbetween leveling up, but other than I'm in the same boat, I only seem to get cosmetic items when my level increases.

And I agree regarding Diretire. In the first game of Diretide I played the other team picked Pudge and my team proceeded to feed him ~250 kills. Even with something like 20k health, he was unable to get past level four Roshan, so I decided not to partake in anymore Diretide.

Also was thinking of some sort of chirstmas give away, i.e you name an item you want in the Dota 2 store and i'll get it for you, but i can't think of a fair way competition, i'm willing to spend a fair amount but i don't have enough to spread the joy to everyone here (DAMN YOU NEW HOUSE ! )

So if anyone has any ideas i'd be more than happy to listen because it'd be pretty swell to do something

Eh, organizing contests, etc, while nice, is not really allowed. If you wanted to do it via a Steam Group or through the MMOC Dota 2 channel, that'd probably be okay, but not on the forum.
