if I don't get my IPC fix, I'll just ADD MOAR CORES YO!

If I get X99, I'm considering continuing to use my 7950 in the new build until spring, when pascal and Fury2 come out. Given how the R9 380X is just an R9 280X, and a 280X is pretty much a 7970GHz, I'm pretty sure I can get my 7950 above that. I haven't had it overclocked for a while and I didn't fully validate it, but I had the card over 1250MHz with only very minor voltage tweaks running the afterburner stress test for half an hour.

Yeah, the 5820K is looking better and better. Still DDR4, but otherwise very good Bang-for-buck.

Skylake seems very focused on mobile than it is for desktop performance =\

Yeah, the 5820K is about 100 euro more, gives you four more threads to play with, more RAM, more PCI-E lanes

5820k is $30 more than a 6700k and MoBo is about $50-80 more than the usual mid range that I go for. DDR4 16GB is about $10 more than DDR3. So /shrug. Except it's kinda eh I guess. I'm just going to wait next generation of CPUs again. Zen or Kabylake.

I'm honestly considering to buy a not so big 4K monitor next just because looking at a 518PPI phone and then at a ~90PPI monitor is just dramatically striking... I'm not really playing anything heavy, so gaming isn't going to be a huge problem, but Windows scaling is.

Where are our OLEDs, Remilia?! =(

Dead in the desktop display market.
OLEDs still aren't at the point where we can use it as a computer display, unless you like burn ins.
Burn ins are worse than Plasmas and CRTs while also the first display type to have color balance issues, so there's a lot on the manufacturer's plate to fix.
Uses for a desktop display are completely different than a cellphone / TV.

Lg has that white sub-pixel gimmick to alleviate the blue degradation but I suppose it isn't enough. =(

Samsung is using some spray from some company that were working on it, I completely forgot the name, haha...
LG introduced dimming on persistent color after a while for burn ins.

Kind of want to hop on this train too. It's pretty annoying having a partially dysfunc mobo.
    http://www.microcenter.com/site/bran...r-bundles.aspx
There's one about an hour~ drive away.
    -$80 CPU
-$20 MoBo with potential price match.
    ?? on RAM sticks.
    +$15~ gas.

    -snip-
    I r confuzzled by stuff...

Well all I know is that I bought the 5820k, the Sabertooth X99 and a 16GB kit of 2x8GB...

I really want that LGA 2011-3 X99-E WS board from Asus, but its nearly 500 euro :<

    Behold its sexiness:

When the spec includes this PCI-E lane distribution...

    seven slots: x16/x8/x8/x8/x16/x8/x8

    Haha. Nice.
    Decisions decisions...

Oh, there's a filter for 10 SATAs 3 but some reason those are cheaper.

Someone make the decision for me, halp.

I hope I can keep my build working for a while, it's only 2 years old and doing an upgrade now with this high USD and low BRL + ridiculously high taxes is kind of prohibitive. For comparison, a 5820K would cost me the equivalent of 640 USD... That's insane.

This chart is way too sad. National crisis at it's best.

Add another 200% to the price because of import duties because Brazil too.
