No no I meant what speakers/headphones are you listening to your music on :P
Also Audacity + LAME is basically the go-to software to rip CD's to MP3 or compress FLAC (open source, totally free)...after some hunting around I found out that there's a lot of programs that completely butcher mp3 quality and make things sound a lot worse than they should.

Last I heard, tetrisGOAT has the beastly HD 650s... which I looked up and gaped at a while back. lol

So if .wav is the normal full-size format of music off a CD, what is above .wav? O.o I've been told by audio-nerds that .wav is the way to listen to music, or .flac but .flac is a smaller file format.

I'm actually looking to selling them!

.flac is compressed, but deemed loss-less.
MP3 has potential to be superior in audio quality, as long as the layers are fewer.
Like, a single saxophone-track has the potential to be of higher quality.
But the more layers tapped on, it loses this.
    Just as an aside.

Basically lossy formats have a cut-off point at 15-16khz which is an extremely high frequency, audible to only a tiny handful of people who have gifted ears and a sound system that can deliver those frequenies smoothly. 99.99% of music falls in the 100hz-11khz mark anyway.
This is why I mentioned the .wav thing, pretty sure .wav is the original format, right?

    Depends.
It helps a lot, since when you need to learn something, you know where to find it.
In general though, just start following a hardware/software news-site you like the feel of.

What I "do all day" is different though.

Those are basically DT 770s with a microphone, meaning that they are overpriced but excellent.
