My list of companies I will not be buying from again went up by one today.

Cooler Master (has been since 2011)
    MSI (Today)

    Why? I'll show you why.

This video is insulting. It's a disgrace. It's sickening. It's stupid. It should not exist.

What bothers me also, is the fact that a company like MSI would do this... I would have expected this shit from Razer or someone else, but MSI? Up till now, MSI has been pretty cool about stuff. This is too much.

I would've somewhat appreciated the advert if she was at least hot. If they're going to pick a model in skimpy clothing to pander to the boys, then at least get it right and don't pick one with fucked-up teeth?

    It's like they're genuinely stupid.

    MSI is pretty awful, tbh.

So far 3 of 3 MSI products I've owned have burned out. An old K7N2 Delta board, a P67A-G43 board burned when I tried to update the BIOS, and my 560Ti.

Good looks would make it even worse.

Even white knighting women's rights aside, it has nothing to do with computers. Bringing them together is just.. dumb.

I still would have been pissed off. They have stooped down to a low level.

My motherboard stopped staying on when I updated my BIOS.

Which lead to my HDDs other than my SSD all becoming mechanically failed disks... sometime... I'll send them to get the data pulled out, but it won't be an easy or cheap job, they do not spin up anymore. They are literally as dead as they can be.

No, it happened after I updated my BIOS.

I sent it in for RMA and ASUS quickly replaced a few things on the motherboard... including the power plugs.

You'd have known this if you would stop disappearing! >_<

I also have a nice Belkin surge protector. >_>

In that case they might as well add Shutdown, Log Off and Restart buttons to the mouse and make the whole joke even funnier :P

I can just imagine somebody just having worked on a document for the last 4 hours, forgetting to save it in that time, and hitting the "restart" button accidentally.

That somebody would probably be my Dad.

RIP to my SSD. Stupid firmware update killed it, but I was suspecting that it was on it's way out anyway. So now I gotta contend with windows on a mechanical drive til I can get a new SSD >.>

I didn't say it was a wall surge. Could very well have been BIOS update messing up the voltage regulation causing minor power surges, enough to fry a drive logic board.

I know from experience it doesn't take much to kill them, I used a power adapter that was 0.1v higher than the correct adapter for a portable drive casing (didn't notice), and it ended up literally burning the PCB of the drive... -_-

Also you know well why I disappeared for a while. :P

Was having a ton of issues with windows and bsod's, that I narrowed down to corrupted clusters on the ssd which chkdsk couldn't pick up for whatever reason. Among the suggestions for a possible fix of this was updating the ssd firmware. At this point I should note that the SSD was an OCZ Vertex 4, and with OCZ's reputation...Well you know.

    - Kinect always on
    - Always connected (~ish at least)
    - Services most likely only working in the US due to licenses
    - Looks
    - The inclusive multi-media approach with overlays et c
    - Their approach to used games
    - No interesting platform exclusive games
    - No interesting features outside games
    * Possibly better performance with the 32MiB SD-RAM cache
    + Better D-Pad

Looks like I'm not getting an Xbox One.

Personally I'm not convinced to get either yet, I might not even end up getting one since I do 90% of my gaming on my pc. Though I'm still waiting to see more info on the ps4 console itself.

i really do not understand why people are going so crazy about the used games and such. whenever piracy is brought up many people say no due to not supporting the developer, well how does buying used games support the developer?

    1) Because most of the games I bought for the Xbox 360 were used (not that I've even opened the box with 60% of them! :P)
    2) Many stores basically base their whole business around it
    3) Without being able to resell the game, you're basically just on a license. You have a license to play the game, but you don't own your copy
    4) It keeps the game alive and elongates the lifespan of said game, multi-player servers not growing deserted when players have "beaten" the game
    5) Developer are already over-compensating for that since new games cost ~100 USD EDIT: 90 USD
    6) DLC are not transferrable anyway

    ---------- Post added 2013-05-25 at 08:21 PM ----------

    Oh, and in addition

    7) If the consumer knows he's able to sell off his games, he's more inclined to buy games to "try out" because if he doesn't like them, sell
    8) Money for games sold is likely to be re-invested in buying more new games
    9) Since more people use the same copy, more environment-friendly (small)
    10) Capitalism is the devil. :P

Oh, I don't know. Maybe because so many of us have done the used games thing, like lending a game to a friend, so they can see if they like it and then go buy it, and vice versa.
