In my entire old school year of about 200 people, I can remember 2 of them being blonde. 80% is quite amazing. :O

Don't think 80% of the swedish population is blond, more like 50%, quite common with brown, darkblond etc as well, Finland probably got higher % though, some finish people got almost white hair :P

We have a city named Hell aswell - also a klit is the danish word for clit but also sand dunes which leads to interesting beach names...

Åland is a small country in the Baltic sea. It is only 13 500 Square KM large and has about 27 000 citizens. An i am pretty sure few people know of its existence.

Actually it's more of an autonomous region within Finland. It was inhabited by swedes but occupied by the Russian Empire and when Finland got independent they got it after some deliberations with all the other countries. Sweden wanted it too.

haha, Sweden and Finland got a lot of shared history, Finland used to be part of Sweden for many many years, then Russia invaded and captured it, the fins became truely independent in the early 1900s(I think). The fins think we let them down on a few occasions, the invasion of Russia was one such moment, same goes for WW2 when soviet union attacked them, there were quite a few swedes that voluntered to go and fight the soviets though and a lot of finish children came to Sweden to keep them out of harms way so it's not all black&white.

It's not hate though, swedes and fins don't dislike eachother by default

Old tired stereotype of the fins is that they are knife wielding alcholics :P

While we are at it:
Greenland and Faroe Islands are in a similar situation but with Denmark.

But all these 3 countries have their representative on the Nordic Council, yes we got a Nordic Council <3 Go Kalmar!

We do that every summer mate, see all those nordic kid going down to south europe, leaving the homeland for the first time on their own behaving like drunk retards, it's not pretty! :P

Thats because we are online - young people speak it fairly well though, old people not so much.
