    50... now what!

    Hey all.

So, I've been 50 for quite some time on my Rogue. I usually tank on her and I can do a pretty nice job in Experts. Butt I quit the game a couple of times, and I'm just coming back now. My quesitons is, what can I do now to see more group content? I think I got around 185 toughness, but I'm afraid to whisper someone that's LFM for some raid or something and disappoint the group by not being ready! What content exactly can I do with Experts gear? And what Mark should I aim for whenever I do a random (Acension, greater Mark of Acension or the Plaque of Achievment)?

I really enjoy questing and exploring Ember Isle and doing these Major zone invasions, and I'm really happy I got back to the game, but now I want to do more group-oriented stuff!

I would look for a guild that does Tier 1 raids to begin with. You could do with a little more toughness, try to push it up over 200 and have around 10k HP with just self buffs (give or take, I don't have a 50 rogue tank yet so those figures are approximates).

You should definitely keep tanking lots of dungeons for epic quality gear, I would probably check out the Plaques vendor and see if there is anything you want or need from that, if not, start getting Marks from your daily dungeons (not Greater Marks, just the normal ones) and use them along with anything you get from Tier 1 raids to buy T1 raid quality loot. Take a peek at riftstrats.com and read up on boss tactics so that you have some idea of what you are doing

You could also look into doing Master Modes, there are two at the moment, Darkening Deeps and Caduceus Rise. They offer better loot for harder challenges, so if normal dungeons are relatively easy, try Master Mode.

I'd also be farming ISS from the major invasions in EI, IPP, Shimmer and Stillmoor, to get the best possible Essences from the vendors in your capital for your six slot sigil, and for Planar Attunement XP, boost your tanking stats!

    That should keep you going

Finish the storyline in Ember Isle for T1 raid (or nearly T2) equivalent legs.
Mess with Ember Isle and farm Instant Adventures for ISS to build a BiS sigil/source machine for yourself. Two of them if you want a resist sigil.
Play around with a few additional specs and grind out Chronicles regularly.
If you're already kitted out in dungeon gear, run the daily random dungeon for Greater Marks.

The main goal of doing that is to prepare yourself for any role you might be needed for, should you get into a raid. Start watching chat for people wanting to form a group for the weekly raid quest, and/or start perusing the realm forums to try and find a guild that might meet your standards. Outside of maybe the most elite guilds, most raid guilds still farm all the old content for their new members, or to get their relic weapons. I also suggest trying to join a guild so you have a chance at earning bonus marks (guild benefit).

It's not hard to find casual, semi-hardcore or straight up hard core raid guilds. Most guilds on most servers are recruiting. If you know your spec(s), do your research, and play to win, almost any guild would love to have some rogue DPS, tanks, or bards. Don't get discouraged if everyone seems to want someone who's already beaten the hell out of Hammerknell. For every guild not willing to take a "newb", there's a handful willing to give you a shot. Worst case scenario, I can personally recommend you a guild always looking for decent folk (if you're in the NA).

I can't seem to solo Chronicles.. is that normal? I only triped a couple times and failed both :S I also never bothered trying to find a partner for them, do they yield loot or anything?

And yeah I've my 10k self buffed hp or something. But thanks for the input so far. Most pugs I see are demanding achievments to get invites tho =(

The first Chronicle should be soloable, the others will likely need a very specialist type of build that allows self healing while dealing reasonable damage (cleric duracell, mage chlorolock etc) or a partner.

For the above reason and the 'pugs want achieves' thing, those are the reasons I say find a guild. Which server, region and faction are you in? If you're in the EU I can direct you to a real nice guild on my server. If you're in NA, then Acquiesce can hook you up as he offers in the post above yours

I'm in Wolfsbane - US. And okay, I thought that the other Chronicles besides the 1st one were really easy to solo and that I absolutely sucked at the game. And I play on Defiant side aswell. I'm raiding in WoW atm, I'll most likely try to find a guild after I get online again. Hopefully it's not gonna be too hard to find a nice guild, lol.

Ned. I've also returned to rift after a 6month afk to finish up the WoW xpac. I'm on Greybriar if your looking for a partner for the chrono's. I'm a mage so I can bring the heals to keep you up. But like the others have said right now its about playing a bit of catch up with the planer attunment. Each level gives 100 points so untill you hit the 3k+ points for it, to me, it doens't seem to huge of a difference. Also my mages name is Scarletwitch if you deside to jump servers.

I'll have a few friends join me in Wolfsbane this week so I'm not really looking foward to shard transfering, sorry =(. If I do, tho, I'll let you know =]

Also, what's the difficulty on Master Mode dungeons? Toughness/hit requirements and their relative difficulty to Experts?

People in Hammerknell gear will likely say "meh, they're reasonable" but for all intents, think of Master Mode as a 5 man T1 raid and gear/spec accordingly.

sounds good. and from what i was told. Master mode is like takin a step back in time and doing experts when you needed a main healer and support heals just to live through it if your not in full HK gear.
