Summary:

Rick Santorum wants to put an end to the distribution of pornography in the United States.

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

It's Rick freaking Santorum, honestly I'm not surprised he's pulling something like this off. Though you've got to give him some credit, he's sticking to his crazy ideology reguardless of how unfavorable it is rather than flip-flopping to win votes. (Then again with how many states he's won there are either A: Alot of just as crazy and ignorent people who agree with this crap or B: A shit tonn of democrats voting him in for the lulz)

Banning pornography and enforcing "obscenity" laws is a pretty slippery slope to play on. The First Amendment provides protection for speech and expression and that can be very open to legal interpretation. For example, in my current home state of Oregon, the city of Portland protects lap dances under a freedom of speech law. And I'm glad they do, I've had some very engaging, um... conversations with some very nice young ladies up there.

Actually, very little of what he's saying is true. He has no evidence aside from his ultra-conservative opinion and at 17 I don't you have the life experience necessary to support or oppose his stand on social issues.
