All healers but monks have this issue btw. Their hit passive only works for some spells.

Holy pally hit passive only works for Holy Shock, Judgment, and Denounce.
Resto shaman hit passive only works for Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst, Hex, and Flame Shock.
Resto druid hit passive only works for Moonfire and wrath.

Ghostcralwer talked about giving all healers except monks 100% hit baseline with all their spells. I don't know if he ended up deciding one way or the other, though.

I'm aware, still CoH is better than nothing, and I would love to get the holy version of DI for disc, the one disc has access to is bad most of the time and will potentially lead to nerfs when it is usefull.
Completely agree. Spirit shell will be best when you know the fights.
Sure, but Blizzard seems to have thought to not make encounters where is intentionally weakened to not make it to strong. For example there are encounters where you can stack groups, but you will get periodic damage that hits some random players for quite a bit every turn - ideal for chain heal, CoH, Wild Growth, etc. - where Spirit Shell wont help you much because you can't predict who will take damage even if you know it is coming and blanketing shields on everyone will waste too much. Then there are abilities which just ignore absorbs, if I remember correctly there was a boss who hat entire phases where he ignores absorbs - how will Spirit Shell help with that even if you know the fight?

Right now our talent gives us 15% hit on everything, not just the spells stated in the tooltip.

We also have to remember that we are looking at level 85 and beta 90. Who knows how it will actually play out in the end. I'm sure some classes seem strong now but won't be as strong at 90. Every expansion takes some adjusting. Will be interesting to see where this one goes. I'm just happy to get out of Dragon Soul.

Does anyone know the mechanics on halo targetting? I remember GC saying that it chooses its targets at cast time and is equivalent to a volley of missiles.

Does this mean that targets outside the aoe at cast time, but moving towards you are never hit? Corollary: targets inside the aoe but moving out of the animation are always hit?

Yes. The animation is mostly show. The damage is calculated on the button press. Who, for how much, and if some are critically hit

This is masked a bit by the fact that the delay until the heal lands can be affected by movement after the cast which makes it kind of mirror the animation.

Unstickied since we are days away from MoP being live, feel free to keep discussing the beta here though

Seeing as Arlee's doing my job, (it's not like I do anything else around here), is beta even live anymore?

Yes. It is. A friend of mine said they weren't going to shut it down. I dunno how true that is or not.

Well... GC or Zarhym I can't remember who exactly tweeted saying that the beta would be up "at least" until the 25th. Which was odd wording to me. but yea they haven't said when they are shutting it down.

They've stated patch 5.1 will be hot on MoP's tail, so I imagine they will keep it up just for that reason.

Isn't that what PTR is for, not beta?

I'd say so and you'd say so, but there must be SOME reason to keep it going. Keeping these servers online must cost money, right? I can't think of any other reason to keep them running.

Only reason I can think of is to keep the people who've already leveled toons to 90 on Beta able to test content without having to copy over their live toons.
