    Taris Comm sword in 1.2

    So I am testing synth weaving on the PTR and I've found that I can't dismantle quest Moddables to learn new recipes. Kind of a bummer.

    However, I am curious if artifice can dismantle commendation moddables to learn new recipes. In particular the sword. Cause I want to keep that model with an augment slot in it.

    Anyone know?

    Would that be an Artifice RE? I guess it wouldn't be Armstech...

    I kinda doubt that weapon will be available to any crafting skill. Just a hunch.

    You are right, it would be armstech since they make vibroswords.

    Can armstech break down the taris comm sword to learn the recipe and then crit craft it so I can have it with an augment?

    Or was it added as a findable recipe?

    I don't think you can RE orange items to learn orange items, since RE is suppose to give you a better version of that same item.

    Also, I am looking forward to 1.2 so I can dual wield these on my Marauder again ^_^

    The post claiming they can't be used effectively by dual-wielding is incorrect though, as I never had any issues not being able to use certain abilities while doing so. Also, the animation is messed, in that when you sheath them, they go to either side of your back, and then stack on top of each other on the right side. That's kinda disappointing, but at least they can't tell that you have 2 right away?

    Why would you need an augment? Most jedi abilities are lightsaber only.

    That's actually a tool tip error.

    As a jedi knight / sith warrior, anything you can do with a lightsaber you can do with a vibrosword.

    As to the augment?

    I don't want to lose out on 28 str.

    Yeah I was talking more about using vibroswords at all, but didn't know that was an error. Good to know.

    Ya, I wish they would fix that with Assassins/Shadows. Can equip electrostaves, but cannot apply a charge with one, making the ability to equip them rather pointless. Someone asked about it during the guild summit, but the answer escapes me at the moment.

    Karsh if you remember I for one would be very interested in the response. I would love to use Vibrosword/Vibrostaff for Shadow/Assassin.

    I would really love to give you an answer on this, especially with my tankassin that has become my main (not having a "glowbat" making me stand out would be nice). Unfortunately, afaik the videos from the guild summit aren't still available, and doing a quick google search is not giving me anything useful either. Even if I could find the videos from day one, I don't remember which section the question was asked in (though, I would start with pvp, combat, or roleplaying).
